hi from wet england

hi
my name is karen and i am from england.
i am the loving proud owner of my first oes billy. he is 2 years old but i have only had him 8 months. he was rescued, found in a tiny yard with a big chain around his neck, no bed, no shelter and no food. the yard was in such a state the owners fed him through a window. when the rspca rescued him they had to break down a gate as they couldnt open that back door. he was severly underweight, matted in feaces with a very infected sore on his back. he was somewhat mental when we had him, scared of all weather still is a bit but he has settled in brilliantly with my staffy cross bruno they are best of friends and bruno shows him all his cheeky bad habbits. billy is still gaining weight but he never stays still long enough to put it on properly but his getting there. he is really a fully grown puppy with added stubborness and i love him to bits.
i have just started up dog grooming just after i got billy, good job really because i dont know how i would of coped without learning all the tricks of the trade but there is so much more i need to know about this breed (i dont think you can ever learn enough) its one thing when an oes comes into the grooming room for a few hours of dematting or clipping but its another thing living with them! luckily he loves being groomed and demands it daily, crying at the grooming room door (i work from home) till i let him in and he just jumps on the table and wacks me with his big paws and if i ignore him he scratches the drawer with his brush in it.
looking forward to chatting to you all and learning all about oes

Hi from an equally wet part of England. Your dogs sound lovely, so glad you rescued your oes. Look forward to photos!
G'day from Sunny Australia   Welcome to the forum :D
Welcome from Illinois. Thank you for rescuing Billy--he sounds like a wonderful dog.
Thank you for rescuing Billy. He'll offer you a lifetime of love for your generosity.

He sounds like a very typical sheepie. Can't wait to see pics (hint hint).

And welcome to the forum!
He asks to be groomed? Hey, not bad at all! I had a Pyr who would do this and promptly fall asleep during the grooming. My sheepies have other ideas about grooming......10 minute limit, life has too many other distractions.
Welcome to the forum.

There are lots of people from the UK here - though I have noticed they are mostly from the south. 8O
welcome from the super dry and no rain Arizona!
Welcome to you....
Yes we very cold and wet here too :(

Hi Karen and welcome from another Karen! Thanks for rescuing Billy - you have a grateful friend there by the sounds of it and a sheepie that asks to be groomed? Wonderful!
Welcome from sunny Florida USA. 8)
Welcome from Minnesota. :D
Your Billy sounds like he is making great progress.
We have a dog from similar circumstances too. She is a sweetie and wouldn't give her up for anything!

you have a beautiful fluffy woofy!!
Hello and welcome too!!! Hugs to Billy!! from the girls :)
Welcome from Colorado.
Welcome from another Aussie,we are in sunny Queensland.Your dog looks adorable. Now for the important questions,do you watch Coronation Street and Eastenders? We are somewhat behind you I think,I just want to know,is that blonde chick Danielle really Ronnies daughter whom her lying rat of a father told her died as a baby?
Ronnie just went to her High School reunion last night so we are way behind I imagine.
yes I think so.....she was called Amy too! I can't wait till she tells Ronnie!
so Danielle knows she is really Amy?
I know Roxy calls her and Sean/Jacks (obviously will be Jacks) baby Amy,after the "lost" baby Amy.
Correct.....!
Cool.Thanks for that,cheers,Lynzi in Oz
How great, another Sheepie owner from wet UK! It's wet here too in Chesterfield ! LOL

Thanks for Rescue-ing Billy, we (me and my son Max) are also proud owners of Charlie, rescued 2 years ago, aged 2, same as your Billy. Hope to meet you at our Sheepie day which hopefully will be soon when it's a bit warmer. Check the board!!! :ghug:
