| This topic is available here on forum.oes.org | | Hello. Can anyone tell me how much a 10 week old Bassett Hound should weight? He has kennel cough and coccidia when \i purchased him, although I didn't know this at the time. I am giving him anti-biotics and cough med and his is getting better. He looks like he is on crack. You can see the outline of his ribs through his skin. Please help me somebody. I love my puppy and want him to gain some weight and get better. Anxious puppy mommy. | |
| Though I don't know much about Bassett Hounds, when we adopted Buckley he was underweight and had contracted kennel cough from the shelter. You could see his hip bones and ribs. W/N a week after we started his medicine he started feeling much better. We've kept him on a steady diet and is now a big, filled out lover boy! (It's been 4 mths now) It sounds like you've already had your bassett checked out by a vet- If not, do so immediately. You want to make sure his low body weight isn't from something medical.
