Info on breeder in Minnesota / Help w/ logistics for sheepie

Hello all,

I think I may have found my new girl, she's in central MN.
Does anyone know the breeder with Boomer's Kennels?
I've spoken with her as she needs to get rid of a 3 year old girl.
Basically, they moved to town from the country and can only have a certain number of dogs, so one had to be let go.

Things appear to be moving very fast, so any info (relevant, factual, etc)
would be great... just for my own peace of mind.

Also...

is there anyone in that area or Minneapolis who could help with logistics,
act as an intermediary, since she'll need to be shipped.

Y'all have been incredibly helpful before with my queries and in general
being SO supportive since the loss of my Vladdie. Thank you so so much...

Oh yes, the sheepdog's name is Sara =)

I have to head off for the day, but I'll check in later.

Thank you!!!

:D

I am a life long MN resident, and I have never heard of this breeder.
But, they are way far from me - they are in northern MN on the MN/North Dakota border. Truly in the middle of nowhere. The town is about 5 hours north and west of St. Paul/ Mpls.

Interesting enough, I am going up past this town this weekend (at least where their web site lists their PO box as) - going west of Grand Forks ND on hwy 29 for a weekend of carting and weight pull training.
We are leaving here Friday morning and coming back Monday morning.
I wonder if they are open to visitors??? I love a good snoop! I would love to check them and the dog out for you - 8)

I am leaving my house (southern MN) very early Friday morning, so if you want anything done - let me know ASAP. I work all day tomorrow and then teach my classes in the evening, so I won't be in computer range most of the day. If you PM me I can give you my number.
Good luck!

I am heading out for rally class with Chewie now, but I will check back later tonight.
perhaps you could try the person Ron recommends in the 'getting a puppy' section under the heading 'finding a reputable breeder' it's worth a try
good luck we'll keep our sheepie paws crossed for you
I won't be back in Minnesota until next Tuesday - but if you need someone to do something after that - please let me know. I will PM you with my phone #. Good Luck!
I hope this works for you I know you have been heart broken lately and a new Sheepie is just what the doctor ordered!! :D

Good Luck let us know!
I would check with people/rescue groups that are in the Fargo-Moorehead or Grand-Forks areas. If I am not mistaken, they are closer then the Twin Cities...and the Minneapolis/St. Paul Airport.

Yes, both ares do have airports!

Sara (Sara's / Sarah's Fantasy)
has been
PTS

according to the email I just received
YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING!!!! Putting a 3yo girl who has someone who wants her to sleep in insane!!! I'm really at a loss for words...this is JUST NOT RIGHT!!!

My first thought is that they found someone else who wanted her and didn't know how to tell you...I'm going with that otherwise its just too insane.
I am just telling myself that it's a hoax.
Although she sent me pics of her and so on and a DN #.
(I will not grind my teeth, I will not, I must not)

I know, off the charts as far as horrible.

Ommmmmmmmmmm
There's no place like home (x3)

I am just home from North Dakota and catching up on the Sara saga.
I am so sorry to see they put her to sleep.
Sounds like she must have had severe issues, or something they wished to hide. :(

I agree with you Dawn.
Yeah, that's nice of y'all to say.
Lemme tell you what: I'm considering sheepies who have totally unknown history,
who are broken in spirit or in body,
who have bitten before,
been used as puppy millers,
who are blind or deaf or
who have been kept on a chain for longer than they can remember.

So "she might have issues" is a big SO WHAT.

Either
a. Moorehead is a crackpot playing a sick joke
or
b. She just killed a gorgeous pup who was about to be mine

Either way, the dog having issues is not what's at issue here.

Thanks for your input, though
Or maybe some people's thought 'process' just leaves a whole lot to be desired both from the "logical" and the "emptahic" view.
