Brutus' new perfume
 I let him out earlier then usual this morning when I could smell that nasty odour ..went outside and called him...OMG ...the whole house stinks ! I didn't have tomato juice, just vegetable juice so I used it ..he just came out pink so I mixed baking soda, peroxyde and dish detergent..seems to work but today I will get Skunk Off from the vet. I remember using this several years ago on my golden .
I work from home. so I hope the smell didn't go through my office. |

I know this may sound weird but when I was younger our sheepie tangled with a skunk and my mom went to the store and bought several woman douche's and they did work!  I know the lady at the register looked at my mom kinda weird but it worked......... what we will do for our sheepies!

The douche is basically baking soda.....so not much different from the peroxide and baking soda. Did you leave the peroxide mix on the hair for awhile? I'm sure you did. After peroxide mix, then a good shampoo scrub followed up by a OdorBan rinse (Sam's Club). I would still have "skunk stink" but it was mellowed greatly.......except on Fox. Whenever that boy got wet, even a year later, he'd still give off skunk stink. Sorry about this for you. I open the door for first call and cringe when I smell skunk in the air. I can't slam the door shut as the guys are already out and barking the neighborhood awake. |
