FLEAS?!?!?!?!?

Chandi has fleas on him, I am freaking. We just got back from North Carolina, where he was a mountain man for a week, I am sure that is where he got them. I put his front line on him yesterday and i am not sure what else to do. How do i get them out NOW? should i go buy a special shampoo? and what do the eggs look like??

If you are using frontline you just need to wait - sorry no instant cure.
capstar gets rid of them quicker (within four hours), but I don't know if it can be used "with" frontline. Why not call your vet. Might just need a flea bath if you added frontline more than 2 days ago. Wash your dogs bedding, vacuum, etc.
a lot of vets won't prescribe capstar and after using frontline you really need to wait 3 days before washing the dog so washingt he bedding etc might just as well wait as well. besides the idea is the flea has to bit the dog to doe - and eggs have to hatch so the flea cna bite the dog to die. using sprays and foggers would just introduce more chemicals and be problematic as well.
I will give him a bath later tonight, I just brushed him and picked out all the live fleas i could see, but the eggs are stuck in his hair! I vacuumed the hole house, washing everything he has touched and i even vacuumed him to pull some of the eggs out (he did not like that HAHAH) I have never had this problem before and his hair is so long it makes it so difficult to know how bad it really is. I could only find four live fleas but it look like there are a BILLION eggs.

DON"T bathe him if you just used frontline - you wash it off. regardless of what the label says wait three days.
 dont panic, they are only fleas! I used to work with 5 year olds and caught head lice about 3 times a year. Now that is horrendous!
you are making me itch!
and remember; KEEP using the Frontline. No matter how much you vacuum, you simply can't get rid of every single egg. If you use the Frontline for several months, as eggs hatch, the fleas will bite your dog, and die before being able to lay more eggs. After a while, they should eventually all die.
How to get rid of fleas from and on your dog
Vacuuming is working rather well, there are still lots of black pepper looking things on him- but way less than before. Chandi is starting to enjoy it too.:) I was speaking to vet and he said that everyone has been calling in about fleas this week, must be that time of year.
EACH time you vaccum, be sure to take your bag off and take it out. you can buy a flea collar and cut pieces to go in your bag....... if you don't want to throw them away each time.

Also, sprinkle the floor with good ol' Mule Team BORAX. and i mean his bedding, the couch etc. Sprinkle it liberally and then use a broom to sweep it INTO the carpet......... let it sit overnight, then vaccum.

Flea's cannot live when the borax attaches to their crustacean like skin. It dehydrates them until they die.

I remember living in North Carolina and panic'd with the thought of flea's. I had forgotten all about them living in Colorado, until i traveled to Chicago this year...... EEEEEEKKKK!!! I've become spoiled! now i mix a solution of citrus oil, and eucalyptus in a spray bottle. Everytime we get out of the car at a potty stop everyone gets all 4's sprayed and belly hair sprayed...... so far we've been lucky to not get them!!!

Good luck.
