Sheepdog Homeless in Freeport PA

Well Hi everyone it is me, Holly's Mom! It has been awhile since I last talked to you and I am still in need of a foster home for Holly. It has been a real bad week, my friends landlord was working outside the house and Holly must've heard him and started to bark... my 12 yr old came home from school and he asked her " Do you have a dog in there? " Well of course my daughter was taught not to lie and told the truth and the landlord has given us 35 days to get the dog out or we are out! Yeah when it rains it pours and I am so tired of trying to keep a positive attitude. I have put a bid in on a house but have not heard back from it yet and plan B is to move back in where the fire was but that will not be done until March!! Does anyone have any ideas or solution to my problem? Again I am not looking to get rid of my sheepie I love her way too much !! i just need some help right now
Respond to this topic here on forum.oes.org
can you explain your situation to the landlord, asking for a little more time, and maybe offer him a "pet deposit" against possible damage. Perhaps even a "non-refundable" pet deposit. Essentially, a bribe to just be okay with the situation. Maybe it will help him to get over it...?

I'm not one for giving out bribes; but I can feel your pain, and would do anything to keep my dogs too. Our landlord also doesn't allow dogs, and we've been trying to buy a home too. Fortunately, he didn't make a fuss, as 2 of his 3 apartments are empty and he can't afford to lose us.
He is totally against all dogs no matter what the situation or how much money we give for a deposit. And I just got the bad news I odid not get the house I put the bid in for!! Boy when it rains it pours!!
So sorry Holly...did you ever contact the local rescue for a temporary home? I don't remember where you live.
Have you checked with Win's Mom who had said she could help
before or did that not work out???
Good Luck, I know it is tough... :(
I just sent a personal to Winston's mom to see if she was willing ....... the rescue was no help unfortunatley the lady they hooked me up with was rude and not very sympathetic
I hope it works out....
Have you thought of contacting local all
breed rescues to see if they have anybody willing?
(hard part is most fosters are full)

I may have asked before how far are you from Philly?
If you are close I can send you an email of a friend there
that maybe can help.
She does fuzzy paw rescue.
(sorry, I never even thought of it before)

Would you like me to crosspost to another OES list?
I am close to Pittsburgh. I also called Holly's litter mate in WV hopefully she will have some good news for me I know this alot to ask I just don't know what else to do other than selling her and that would be my last option    :!: :!: :!:
I'm so sorry about what's going on with you... sounds horrible =(

Well, I am still very much missing my Vlad, and very much looking for another sheepie. I know you don't want to get rid of your pup, and I absolutely feel you on that.

Though it may seem wacky, I would be willing to foster your pup until March.
When I went to France for my last year of university, Vladdie went and stayed in Ohio with my good friend/ex-boyfriend. Anyway, you could look up my other posts to get more info on me, my dog philosophy, etc.

Of course, there's ins and outs and what have yous, like shipping, etc, but I love the age that your pup is at, your pup is cute, and really needs a spot, I need a sheepie to hug and play with, and I swear I'm an honorable person.

If you find something closer, you should of course go with that.
With me, your pup would be guaranteed tons of quality time, great food, training, outside time, socialization, and would still be your pup.

There were times I could've used such an offer with Vladimir;
life's twists and turns can be made a lot easier with a little bit of relevant help.

So... my offer is out there.
Either way, I wish you both luck. Lots of it.
HI,

If you private message me I might be able to help you out as a very last resort.

Regards,
Jack
Hi ravenbrook! I actually just replied to an earlier post of yours about Holly! My husband and our 2 year old sheepie, Kenai live a little bit north of you in Warren. We may be able to foster Holly for you for awhile if you are interested. Kenai would love a 'surrogate' sister to play with! We actually live in a barn (w/ 4 apartments) a little way out of town along the allegheny river and have a HUGE back yard to play in and neighbors who absolutely LOVE our sheppie! I could not imagine having to give up Kenai! So let us know we can help! :P
Hi everyone I have some news on my situation but 1st I want to thank ALL of you for being supportive of me and Holly and offering to help. I have made some new friends and we found Holly's 1/2 brother in all of this and that was AWESOME!! Yes Cosmo is related and Cosmo's mom and dad are very special people...... They have been great to us :D Now back to the good news...... I am waiting to here but on Sunday a friend of mine called me and told me she found a place for me to live WITH my BABIES!!! It is a 2 bedroom house on 4 ACRES!!! The landlord did not want any dogs but my friend ( who is in sales ) pitched my plea and won him over he is seriously considering it he needed a few days to think about it and talk it over with his wife. Something good has to happen is what my 12 yr old daughter said so I'm going to believe that. I should know within the next couple of days and if it doesn't work out Cosmo's Mom and Dad have offered to foster Holly so it will all be ok either way! I am truly blessed and very thankful for this forum! My bumblebutt will hopefully have a new place to romp and I will let you all know!! :D

and to Beansprout thank you for your offer maybe we could do a play date sometime! :D
That's really great to hear that! Sounds like it will be a good place for your whole family. Keep us in mind if for whatever reason (and let's hope not!) you need a foster for Holly. :) Yes, a playdate would be fun!
:cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

That is great news!
Wonderful :clappurple: :go: :high5:  :yay: :cheer:
Yeah!! I hope the new house works out for you! If not, I know Cosmo's parents will be great fosters for Holly until you can get settled somewhere that allows you to keep her with you. Good luck!!
I see that an update isn't on here, so let me share the good news! They got the house with the 4 acres!!! I had a very happy text message from them not too long ago.

Cosmo and Holly have the same mommy (Clover). The two look quite a bit alike when they are both in full coat. We are glad to have gotten to know Denise a little bit and are planning on getting our Sheepies together in the near future. Luckily for us, Holly's mommy happens to have a relative not too far from us, so it'll make it extra easy to visit!

We would have been more than happy to take Holly. I think she and Cosmo are very much alike, and Roxie is always ready to make a new friend... it would have been hairy, but fun!!

But most of all, we were hoping that the family could stay together, because who in the world would want to be away from their Sheepie?!!

Congrats to you guys - love your new picture!!! :D
:D Yes we got the HOUSE!!!!Yeah!!! I am so excited and Holly runs around like a nut!!! My daughter is happy and I am as well. Thank you all for all your prayers and well wishes they helped me get thru this bump in the road!!

Nat & Bernie you will never know how much your offer meant to me I am so glad we got a chance to talk and I can't wait to come and see you all in person!!

This is such a great day!!!!!!
I LOVED reading your post! I made me so happy! Actually, so happy that I got tears in my eyes (I'm a big sap!)...

Looking forward to meeting you in the not so distant future. Enjoy! :D
What fantastic news!! I'm really very glad it all worked out for you!! Hurray!!! :P
We are looking for a sheepdog for our 1.2 acre home and lot. Our oes
(2 in the past) lived a long life.

I hope you find a solution but if not please consider us.

Thanks and good luck.
You are not a sap!!! You are alot like me I think! We just get emotional with things and people we care about or feel passionate about! I reall y would like to come and see ya the 1st of the year so please keep in touch and call and leave me your email address I can't find it ANYWHERE!!!

Cosmo you have GREAT parents so please don't get rid of them!!! :D
So wonderful to hear the happy ending. I have been watching this story for the entire time.

For the guest seeking another OES, I suggest you contact your local rescue. Depending where you are, they seem to have more OES than fosters. As a previous OES owner, you should place high up on their lists. Good Luck!
Just wanted to say that I am SO very happy for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bravo!!!

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
Ravebrook, I am thrilled to hear you and your family have found a new home and all of you will be able to stay together. I did send a PM to you two weeks ago before going out of town for work.. but assumed that you found arrangements for Hollie when I did not hear back. My online time lately has been limited between work and caring for Win. So I have been just checking e-mail for a while. Again, I am so glad you will all be able to stay together. I wish you and your family happiness in you new home. If you are still close to the area, maybe some day we can get together at a park for a play date.
