Bella barks in the car.

I feel like some one stole by dog she was, note the PAST tense, was reasonalbly good on rides. in the past couple of months she has become a maniac. She loves to get into the car and loves the forst half mile or so but then starts barking and acting crazy. We have tried short rides and treats ansd even calming sprays Not a. I even tried covering her eyes with a triangular bandage. It worked as long as they were covered then it was chaos. I hate to drug her all the time but we would like to take her to the mountains or to the park. But she makes it so unpleasent we don't do it. HELP :(

I saw an episode of the British dog trainer dealing with barking dogs in the car - it might have been OES too.
She had they cover the side and back windows of the SUV, with a curtain behind the driver's seat. If they barked, the curtain was closed until they stopped. Then it was opened again. Definately a two people job. The dogs picked up on what was going on pretty quickly.
They did that with Greatdanes. I'm thinking of doing that with Simon who goes nuts when he see's a motorcycle, someone riding a bike, walking, or just standing there.
