Uhm... well... uh...sigh...I had a MILD stroke

Can you believe that nonsense??? Long story short. I had the eye thing going on. I have vision issues associated with MS-- so wasn't sure if I needed to worry or not. Had the bright red eye thing going on, but thought it was a broken blood vessel. It was the pounding headache that had me a bit concerned.

On Saturday morning I was having major issues-- I promised a short story didn't I ?

ER- MRI - CAT SCAN- DOCTORS- DX STROKE- ADMITTED - BLOOD THINNERS- MEDS- WEAK RIGHT SIDE- HORRIBLE HEADACHES- LURKED FORUM ON WIRELESS IN HOSPITAL- DIDN'T FEEL WELL ENOUGH TO SIGN IN- RELEASED SATURDAY- SIGNED IN SUNDAY EVE- FEELING WEAK BUT VERY FORTUNATE- COULD BE MS MEDS THROWING CLOTS- NEURO APOINTMENT TUESDAY- That is the short version.

Happy Birthday Darcy

The bad pain along with the blood vessels in the eys did scare me......guess over 15 yrs of neuro nursing gives one those twinges. :(

Isn't this just the limit??? I still can not believe that I had a stroke. That is what happens to the elderly.... Not people in their 40"s. You just never know...

I am purely exhausted. I have PT for two hours each day for now. That will increase I think as time goes on. I really am just weak on my right side, which I am used to anyway, because of the MS.

We have soooo much going on right now --- flowers to prune back, decks and porches to ready for winter... Poor John. He is taking the brunt of all this. I tried to go out this morning and trim back some flowers on the deck. Got caught though. I thought my Mom would be here later in the morning, and she was here bright and early, right after John left for work. I think they are in kahoots.

I debated posting about this at all. Seems like all of my posts are doom and gloom, crazy relative, or health related :x Geez.

Max is being so attentive. He licks my face and lays on my lap, so gentle like. I seem to be very emotional -- crying a lot. He just looks so sympathetic.

I am very fortunate and greatful to everyone. We'll get through all of this... we will.
Wow! I was worried when you didn't follow up quickly on the red eye, but this is beyond anything I had imagined. I am so glad you are ok. I can imagine how surreal it must feel. Phew!
You have to take care of yourself first, everything else is pretty unimportant now. Feel better soon!
Gosh Lori, I'm sorry this happened to you. I do hope you are feeling better.
Lori, I pray that you get better. Please take care of yourself, please? :ghug:
Sorry that this has happened, glad to see you back on the forum so quickly though!

This is kind of therapy for me. I am suposed to squeeze this ball at least 4 hours a day---and do excercises to strengthen my hands. I figure typing, while slower than normal qualifies--- don't you???? ;)

You bet! ;) I'm just glad you have you're doing as well as you are! Now, it's time to follow the dr. orders to the T so that you do not have another or worse!
OH, how scary! I'm glad you seem to be recovering well, though, and seem to have pretty good spirits. Yes, of course the forum counts as therapy!

And please take it easy! The flowers will always be there to prune next year! I'm glad John and your mom are in cahoots!
You seem to be doing so well, you are probably a better typist than I am even after your ordeal. Sorry this had to happen to you.
:ghug:
Today has been the worst--- lots of arm and shoulder pain, and crying jags that just won't quit. My right eye seems to be drooping a bit too. We didn't notice that until last night. I may need an eye lift... 8)
Big :ghug: :ghug: :ghug: to you!

Hope you feel better soon..........
Good grief! Get well soon!
Lori: I hope you are reporting all of these symptoms to your dr. I am so sorry you are going through this. I hope you get well soon.
