Just B method ! Ballet and Pilates

Just found a new series of workout dvds that are unique.

They use both ballet and pilates exercises in very interesting
sequences. One of the dvds, Attitude Tu uses an band
workout as well.

Bernadette Giorgi designed the program
and is a former dancer and now fitness professional.

The dvds are Attitude, Attitude Tu and Pilates Circle.

I was happy to find the Pilates Circle dvd because my pilates
circle has been collecting dust for years. I should get this
one this week, she is very gracious-offers a discount for
Just B forum members which just fuels my fitness dvd addiction.

Thought I would list this for anyone who enjoys ballet workout
but would like to expand their knowledge and add pilates.

I've added these to my winter workout. Had to drop the
aerobic type w/o due to the ankle injury (now chronic  )

Thanks for the info. I'm doing a Pilates mat class tomorrow for the first time and my "core" is so weak. But I'll do what I can. I have the New York City ballet workout DVDs and love them. Two DVDs but broken into sections so you can do whichever one(s) you want.
Hi Paula!

Good luck with the pilates classes. Give yourself lots of time-
it can take weeks/months for some of the exercises to
be effective. If you get discouraged, keep going!
Its the consistency that is important.

Then one day soon you will be going upstairs and realize-
wow, those pilates classes have made a difference.

Also,

good articles re-horseback riding.
The Pilates class nearly killed me. The instructor doesn't really provide instruction, she's more of a leader. The class definitely was an intermediate level. If I decide I want to pursue it, the Wellness Center offers (for a fee) one on one instruction, both mat and Reformer.

And I'll check into the rider Pilates link.

That sounds like a good plan. It will take a while to work up
to intermediate. check out Just B on youtube-its a nice workout
some excellent pilates ,but also ballet exercises as well.

I am waiting for the Pilates Circle dvd, should be a very good
work out.

All kidding about the killer pilates class, you will really notice
a difference in your horseback riding and even just your daily
activities being easier if you stick with pilates. Surely, not for
the faint of heart.
