Ideas for fund raiser

Hi Everyone, Was wondering if you guys could give me some ideas for my fund raiser I am having at the restaurant in Dec. It is for our local shelter, I did one last year with my co-workers, but on a much smaller scale. This year we want to make it a huge success for the shelter. We have already started a "Buck a Bone campaign. You pay a dollar at the bar and get a paper bone you put your name on and we hang it in the bar/ dining area. We are having the local radio station do a live remote broadcast that day. We get pretty good donations from the local businesses for raffles. We do 50-50 drawings also. The restaurant is real nice and turns into the local hot spot at about 10 pm for the twenty somethings.. I would like to get something going that would interest them to come as it is on a Sat. afternoon. I know giveaways really draw the kids at night, and I could get my beer distributors to donate tee shirts and other things. Can anyone think of some kind of contest that would really draw them?Something that would make them want to get out of bed early on a Sat. morning. I am going to do some kind of lunch special with a picture of beer.. The employees donate their time, and bartenders and waitresses also donate their tips. I really need ideas on drawing the younger crowd. Can anyone help me with some ideas, I would really appreciate it. Thanks :)

Hi,

Congrats and kudos to you for your effort!

I once entered a contest eons ago with Shaggy my first OES in a pet/owner lookalike contest. We didn't win but a GOOD time was had by all. The mall where the contest was held also had silly agility contest whereas owner would carry an egg on a spoon in one hand and hold the leash with doggie in the otherwhile going through an agility course. Shaggy and I won that one! The other contest were best dressed dog an most talented dog. Pet owners love showing off their dogs talent and it drew newspaper people and the crowds out.Lots of fun for pet owners and it helped other pets so that may be something to consider. Cost 5 dollars to enter each event and proceeds went to an animal shelter.

For next year you may want to consider something like this.

Hum, I can think of some interesting ideas, maybe shouldn't mention on a family forum though.
Silent Auction during the event works.
I agree silent auctions are great
how about setting up an area where people and pets can get their photo taken with a theme (maybe christmas)?
Thanks guys, Great ideas, Keep them comming :D
we always do 50/50 raffles where people buy raffle tickets and at the end of the night we split the pot with the winner. the best part about it is the winner usually ends up donating their share or buying everyone ar ound :)
