Doggie Torture (kidding)

Simon is working on getting a hotspot(?) on his back foot between the toes. He has been licking his foot since yesterday and when I looked it was all red and looked like if he kept this up it would start bleeding soon.

Randy and I took turns in holding him and cutting the hair away and put him is this

To put it mildly he didn't like it. He wouldn't move. During the night he got used to it and was fine until tonight. He figured out he could get around it and start to lick again.

I remembered we had an old cone in the closet, so I got that out and put it on him. He's back to not moving again

Yes, I will call the Vet in the morning.

I shouldn't laugh but he looks so cute. He has a real grumpy face as if hes saying I will get over this..

I hope his paw is ok and the vet can sort it.

It may be an obvious question but is there anything stuck in his paw? George has a tiny thorn on the side of his pad that I had to get out with tweezers. WE only found it cause everytime he put his paw on the floor he cried!
ah he looks so sad, make me want to just give him a big hug
Oh, poor Simon!
He looks so cute in a pathetic way. :D

I hope you find what's bugging him.
Agree!!! Too cute and sad...... Hope he gets better soon!!!
Where do I get one?!?!! Those are so much better looking than the traditional cone. He looks adorable and I SO know that miserable ...won't move... my life sucks... attitude they get when the cone is on them. Poor guy!
The look on his face seems to be saying...

"I don't feel well and now they are trying to humiliate me."

I hope he feels better soon.

lol...i thought the same thing....poor baby!
Poor Simon. :( He does look cute in his blue collar, though. I hope you can sort out his foot quickly, because the "Cone of Silence" sucks.

Laurie and Oscar
How about a frilled Elizabethan collar instead?
He does have one of those pitiful looks that makes you want to giggle and run over to snuggle him...
Poor baby...
What a sad pitiful face!!
What a sad face!

Seriously, there could be something in there such as a grass awn, thorn, or a tear in the skin. And it could be an allergy to late season weeds or grasses or something else in the air or ground.

When my guys get foot possessed, I end up shaving down the area and more than not there's a tiny hole where a grass awn has penetrated. If you are lucky, it's right there and can be pulled out. If not, it's vet time.
Simon is the owner of his first hotspot. Don't know why he got it, could have been any number of things but there is nothing in there now and he's on meds and should be good as new soon. On the other hand I think I may have found another one on Gar. Saw him licking this morning and checked and looks like he's getting one. I washed it good and will clean it when Simon's gets cleaned and hopefully that will take care of it.
Oh what a cute picture! The poor guy! :)
