Prednisone Causing Accidents in the House? Other reasons?

My coworkers lab (I've posted about him a couple weeks ago) is eating again, thank goodness! However, the doctor has the dog taking 1 prednisone a day. Now the dog is constantly having accidents in the house, #1 and #2. She will let him out of the house and when he comes in, boom an accident on the floor. Any ideas? Suggestions? Solutions? Thoughts?

It's the prednisone. The steroid makes them eat and drink more and their bodies don't always adjust well.
Yep. Barns is on the prednisone and we have to take him out a lot more than usual (he could go days without peeing, well, you know) to avoid accidents. We first gave him prednisone in March I think and I did the usual out routine and took him up to bed and he immediately peed in our bedroom so we ran downstairs (fun at like 7 months pregnant) and he peed outside for literally another minute. It was crazy. So now when he's on the pred we let him out. A lot. Oh, and he drinks a lot of water, so we're back to giving him small, controlled amounts, otherwise he'd drink an entire bowl and then throw it up...
And when they go off the prednisone, the water that was retained will start being filtered out - more accidents for a couple of days.
With the predisone take them down slowly off it rather then just stopping it, it makes it better then just decreasing the dose.

Unfortunately that is a side effect with the drug, increases hunger and they drink and drink so what goes in comes out in bulk :?
Thanks everyone! My coworker appreciates the OES community! She knew it was a side effect, but wasn't sure if anyone had any suggestions or solutions. She appreciates all the wonderul input!
