Some of you have read about my Khobi. He's 15 years old. After his friend Leo passed (in May) we started having some problems with him peeing inapproprately. We also thought maybe bringing Lizzie into the house was just too many changes for him.

Well, we've discovered, he no longer has control of his bladder and have made the heartwrenching decision to send him on his way to the bridge.

He has an appointment at the vet tomorrow at 1:30. Tony will take him.

I feel very guilty, but just can't continue cleaning up cat pee. He has had an explempary life. He's spoiled rotten..in the best ways possible. And now, its his time. I almost feel sick to my stomach at the thought of it.

I'm going to make him his very own chicken breast tonight for dinner. He has always been a poultry thief.

My head says this is the absolutely right thing to do. My heart says otherwise. The stress of his accidents on the rugs, chairs couches has caused much tension between Tony and I. I find myself trying to hid Khobi's accidents...but I can't anymore.

So...say a pray for an easy journey for little guy...and a pray for me to hold up through this.

I'll really miss his beautiful blue eyes.

You have my prayers, I know how hard it is Group hug
Group hug He has had a wonderful life. We can't ask them how they feel about their accidents, perhaps they are mortified too. I know Fox was as his end was nearing......you could read his eyes when he discovered is accidents.

It is never easy to let them go, but the alternative is to keep him in an aea where his accidents aren't so bothersome. He'd hate that and wonder what he had done to earn his banishment.

He has given you his best and doesn't want to earn your disappointment in him thru no fault of his own. Thank him for allowing you to spoil him and for his love in return. Group hug
Deb
I am so sorry, we will be thinking of you.

Oh Deb, I'm so sorry.

It is so hard to say goodbye. You have my sympathy.
Oh Deb. I am so sorry. I know your heartache. He will be met by my Sassi (my hemalyan)....... how i miss that stinker's blue eyes............

It is hard..... but it is also the kindest thing you can do for him too.

Huggs.

Deb, you have my deepest sympathies. I know exactly what you mean, and it is the most heart wrenching thing we ever do. But we do it for love, knowing this is not the life they want either. You're in my thoughts and prayers as you get through this.
I spent my lunchhour saying good to Khobi...crying my eyes out.

My husband just called from the Vet and said, "this is the f***est lucky cat in the world!"

Khobi has a kidney infection which is causing the loss of control. The Vet said some of it maybe behavioral (old age and all) but thinks meds will help greatly.

So...ol' Blue eyes will be coming home for a month on meds to see if this resolves the problems.

I believe that leaves him with 8 more lives.

Thank you for your support!
Wow! That's GREAT news!! Hopefully this clears up the whole problem. Phew!
I didn't see this yesterday, but am so glad to hear about the positive update!!!!!!!! I was touched by the original post. You know he did it all just to get that chicken breast. Wink
Yeah, 8 lives and maybe 8 years. Phew! You are happy, don't know about DH.

Now I've gone and done it. He's been eating chicken breast, liversausage and butter for the last 3 days.

How will I ever get him back on his Senior Cat Chow?????
Phew! close call!!

So happy for you. Very Happy
I think he deserves a littl ebit of the good stuff in his bowl along with the Senior Cat Chow.
No Senior Cat Chow tonight! He got, Friskies Chicken and Tuna in gravy, and a hearty dose of antibiotics!

He looks like a really happy kitty. (Cuz Mama's been kissin him!)
Great news Yay!!!
Great news Deb.......
Hugs to you and Blue eyes!
(and of course our pup in paw)
Send the leftover liver sausage my way, and I'll eat it while doing the happy dance for Khobi.

Oh Paula! You (and Khobi) are the only others I know that like liver sausage! I love it on white bread with thinly sliced onions. OH YUM!!!

I'll have to ask Khobi if he'll share with me!

Are you a chopped liver lover, too? (I make the best! And while I'm making it, Khobi does a happy dance around the kitchen.)
Deb,

Thank your lucky stars for a GOOD VET. He discovered a problem and hopefully the antibiotics will clear up his infection.

Now you're stuck with a more spoiled cat!!!
