Archie has been done

Archie was "done" yesterday

The mad hound is doing fine, he doesn't seem to know what rest and recuperation means

He is in a brush and rake free few days.

I tried a cone - hmm he is very articulate, and manages to rip it free even with it attached to his collar - he somehow loosened his collar, so I guess that is a no go then.

He doesn't seem interested in his operation scar, more the usual fun bit to the front!

Apart from locking him in his cage, has anyone got any tips on, stopping a natrually bouncy hound from bounding around and jumping about oh and barking "PLAY WITH ME" continually dashing in and out wanting me to follow!

I am amazed I thought he would be tender and feeling sorry for himself.

He is back off to the vet tomorrow for a pre arranged checkup

I can't offer any advise, sorry. We accidently over-dosed Oliver when he got neutered, so he slept just fine for about 12 hours, then woke up very droggy. I wouldn't recommened it!
Archie! STOP PLAYING!

I can imagine this, Ru loves to play more than anything else, even eat or go for walks. I have no advice except perhaps putting some (OK quite a bit) lavender in an oil burner in the same room, seems to calm Ru down.

Keep us updated as to how his behaviour is- we would think about it for Ru if it made him behave a bit better.
done 8O

couldn't figure out what the heck you ment!!!

NEUTERED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hahahahsa

best wishes for speedy healing!
He went for his post op checkup.

He seems to be doing fine, the vet gave me some Aloe Vera as he has clipper burn! 8O poor lad - not that it appears to bother him, I thought the lines were contact with his wound/scar weeping leaving lines of blood, but noop just a nasty shaving rash, they think he has quite sensitive skin, I ask you  you would wouldn't you!

They assured me that they use new blades.

Like I say he is doing well, very hyper at not getting his usual off the lead runs, and no river for 2 weeks, I guess I'll have to wash the pee off his front legs then
Looking forward to Friday when technically his ten days of calm are up.

He will be allowed off in the field he likes so much - even if it is sodden!

He has been getting more wired each day, he doesn't really take to not getting his fun run of exercise, he has had a few "sheepie speedway" moments around his fenced off part of the garden which we reluctantly have had to curtail.

A few times when he has been on the grass on his walks he motors up his muscles into the start of a run, to be disappointed by my "Not today Archie" command

His shaving/clipping rash has healed nicely, he doesn't bother with his operation scar at all.

We have even resumed serious brushing (much to his dismay!) soon as his box of brushes comes out he hightails it of to his cage whether the cat that is in their likes it or not!

Here's hoping our weather picks up a little for Friday, I am looking forward to one totally pooped out pooch :D
Haha! Archie will enjoy his run and splash in the river. Sensitive skin??! Poor boy
Well he certainly did enjoy his new found leashless runs, although he was a little concerned and at first wouldn't go more than 15 yards ahead before stopping and checking I was still coming!

He had a great time in the river :D

I hope I haven't been a little early in letting him run about but it has been ten frustrating days for him on leash. He seems fine a little damp still but he was quite pooped from his extended walk and run about, totally out for the count earlier on the kitchen floor, he is currently snoozing in his cage :D
