HELLO FROM KENTUCKY

I have been on here for sometime, but have never formally introduced us - I rescued an OES here in Louisville for my sister about 8 years ago and just fell in love with her. 7 weeks after my Beardie died in September 2002, I went to the Beardie rescue and they never responded, so I logged onto the OES rescue and they were just going down to Hilton Head to pick up Patch. In November I picked her up from Jim in Florence, KY and it was love at first sight. In November 2004, she certified as a therapy dog and we continue to this day to visit 3 nursing homes, 1 alzheimers center, a psychiatric hospital, and are on call for a homeless shelter and halfway house. In February 2006, she was awarded therapy dog of the year - honoree where 600 people paid $100 a plate to attend the event. Patch is the only OES in the pet therapy program and brings comfort to many people every month.

Patch is my heart, she is such a good and kind dog who never meets a stranger. She is fast asleep right now probably dreaming of her treats and chasing the poor elusive squirrels - she is also happy that I've taken a day off to spend some time at home. I appreciate all the info on here and frequent tips on keeping our sheeps happy and healthy. I've learned so much on the forum.

Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your group.
