SOON SOON SOON, Going to be a Grandmother SOON!

Well, it's finally arrived; the due date of the longest pregnancy in history. TWO YEARS of waiting. When my son and his wife decided to start a family two years ago I never thought it would be such a long wait.

But it's finally here, tomorrow is their "due date". The Dr. told them Friday he thought they would be going within the week. Everyone is doing great, the nursery is ready and MY BAGS are packed  .

I wanted so much to be there for the delivery but suspect I won't be able to make it in time. There is so much last minute stuff to do and it's a 7 hour drive. But that's ok (they may be just as glad to have the first hours to themselves).

I've done so much knitting this week my fingers are sore!

Ginny!!!! HOw exciting.... :excited: :excited: :excited: Do you know if you are having a grandgirl or a grandboy? How about names? I will be posting this same thread in April of 09...It will be my fifth grandbaby and probably the lassssssstttttttt..
I am so excited for you!!!!!!

Just nothing like it -- is there????
Good luck, drive safely and no speeding tickets, Grandma!!

LeAnne and baby Will are down visiting this weekend and he is such a little loveable chunker!! (Breanna ia visiting her other grandparents this weekend)
Oh congratssss and good luck. What great news. Cant wait to hear the details. Drive carefully
They opted to be surprised about the sex (much to my annoyance-I wanted to know whether to buy pink or blue yarn).

Last I knew (and that was a bit ago) the names they picked were Savanah Blaine for a girl and Caden Michael for a boy. They were also considering Cameron Michael (the one I like like best but they didn't ask me).
Congratulations I hope it all goes well.

Drive carefully and as ever can't wait to see pictures!!!

You are right....there is NOTHING like being a Grandma!! :hearts:

Yaaaay....I'm so happy for you. Keep us posted.....GRANDMA!! :D :D
Oooooh, I'm SO jealous, Ginny! But so happy for you! Can't wait to hear if you have a Savannah or Caden and for pictures. Woo-hoo!!
So happy for you....it's the greatest...my little Zoe just left an hour ago after being here for two days on her first sleepover trip since birth 13 weeks ago....she is the most beautiful and precious baby!!! The bad part...saying good-bye. They only live 2 hours away but time passes so fast we we visit and my daughter, 31 has always gotten teary eyed when saying goodbye since she was little...still does! If only I could convince them to leave her! It's just so wonderful...this time she actually laughed loudly at her Grandma!
AWWW!!! :hearts:
YAY Ginny! Now you will have to go out and knit some more.
Can't wait to see pics. I know you are excited and all.... but DO NOT FORGET YOUR CAMERA!!!
Enjoy the little bundle of joy!!
oooh, congrats in advance!
I'm SOOOOOOO EXCITED FOR YOU!!!! You must be going crazy waiting!! :yay:

Can't wait for the details!!! :)
Grandma Ginny!!

Have a safe drive, and lots of hugs to your grandkid :D :D
Congratulations to your son and daughter-in-law!
Congratulations in advance to Granny Ginny to be :ghug:

Here is wishing the whole family all the best for the big event and big kisses to the newest soon to be member of your family, gonna be the best dressed baby in cute baby knittted clothes around.

Congratulations! I am green, green, green with envy as it will be years and years before I am a grandma, if I ever am so fortunate! My oldest son was in a ltr with a wonderful woman but they broke up (mostly--possibly getting back together). I can't even seem to get any of mine married.

I wil be thinking of you over the next few days and looking for good news!

Remember how much we like pictures!
Congratulations Ginny, what a happy and exciting time for you and your family :)
Congratulations Ginny! (To be honest glad it is you and not me (not yet))
Congrats Ginny! Enjoy every moment....the best time of your life. :D
Congrats Granny!!!! you might not be able to decide the kids name BUT you do get to decide what you want the kid to call you....whats it going to be??

i think we need a name picking contest for Ginny!!!

i like G.G. (for Grandma Ginny)... plus they say dadadad, momomomoma, dededededededde and hopefully say geegeegeegeegee...

yey!! now that the knitting is complete, its time to start on a darcy sweater
hehehehehehehehehehe I like that Darcey!!

Your sweater has to go on the wait list, as soon as I know what the sex is I'll be busy knitting Gender appropriate sweaters.

I just got back from lunch and signing up for this class:

I think it is going to be a girl........
Oh Ginny this is exciting! I am happy for you.

False alarm..................up all night liast night.
9:00 PM Phone call "we are in labor" contractions 5 minutes apart, dr says wait til they are 3 min apart to go.
12:00 Phone call "we are headed to hospital" contractions 3 min apart lasting 1 minute
4:45 Phone call "they are sending us home, contractions back to 7 minutes apart"

Of course I never went to sleep, it's a Grandmothers job to pace the floor, RIGHT??

:( :(
awww so sorry!! Next time it will be the real deal. Dont make any ruts with all that pacing going on.
This is the part where you stay on pins and needles until he/she gets here. :D

Have fun pacing. Can you knit while you walk?

This just makes me so glad I had a c-section! There was no false anything. Just cut and grab at the designated time! 8)

Good luck with the waiting Ginny. At least it sounds soon! So are you headed down there as soon as it happens or are you going to wait a while, or wait for them to come to you?
My "plan" is to be there the day they come home from the hospital. They are scheduled for induction on the 9th (if nothing happens before then). If they end up inducing I will most likely go down that day.

Last night or today would be poerfect, I can cover my ambulance shift and leave in the morning, stay a week and be back by nexk Friday which is my long ambulance weekend.....
