Casey Car Chasing Improving

To clarify, by improving I mean he is doing it less, not that he is getting better at it :) What we've managed to do is get him to either sit or down by the side of the road and take treats instead of lunging like a maniac towards the cars. If I leave him in a stand he will still lunge at anything going by (cars, cyclists, joggers) but in a sit he's getting pretty good. He is almost 90% on this now and we're very proud of him but the lesson doen't carry over to walking and letting the cars pass.

Any suggestions on how to move from a tense but obedient sit to a casual walk and ignore?
