'Fishing' Phone Calls
I've been receiving calls once a week from this # 877-395-3125. It's a pre-recorded message saying "This call is for my name it's important that you contact us this number..." They don't leave any information as to what company they are calling from, etc. Every time I receive these types of phone calls, I always do a search on Google for the number. Usually it brings up other discussion boards where people have experienced the same phone calls. With this # 877-395-3125, the people who responded were being told a line that they had outstanding medical bills, or something similar to gain their info. | That's why I got Caller ID. If it's a toll free number I won't answer it. They can leave a message if it's important. Unless I know the caller, I just don't answer the phone any more. BTW, a friend just had it with a political caller...real person, not recording...and asked that the phone number be eliminated from the call list.....which can be done locally. Nationl.......no luck. But at least she has quieted one type of call. |
| My parents used to get messages on their phone saying someone was trying to contact them,emergency situation,ring this number,or they had won a prize,ring this number,and it was always a number that charged $1 a minute,just a scam.Shameful.I never get any having always had silent (unlisted) numbers,but so many old people fall for this type of carp. |
