Made to call to have Remo pts, but........

I had our vet come to my house last Thursday to see Remo. At the time he wasn't walking or able to get up on his own. I knew what he would say I just needed him to tell me. His color wasn't good, he's very thin even though he eats good, breathing hard, can barely walk. If it's associated with arthritis he has it. I told the vet I needed one more night. I took off work Friday to be with him. About 1 hour before the vet called Remo got up on his own and walked to his water bowl. I took him outside and he walked from the side of the house to the garage on his own. Dr. Shivell called and I told him what he was doing. I just couldn't do it at that time. I wasn't ready to let him go and maybe he wasn't ready to let me go either. We went to the lake over the weekend. We have a camper so Remo is not sleeping outside on the ground. He had a pretty good weekend and we got some quality time in. We're taking it on day at a time now. I figure I'll make the appointement and cancel at least one more time, I know me.
I'm asking that you all say an extra little prayer or keep a good thought for Remo.
Thanks guys.

for you AND your sweet BoY!!!!!!!!!
Sending positive vibes to Remo and to you
You've got them! All of my sheepies and I will be sending good thoughts your way for Remo and for you.

It is very hard, not that I need to tell you that, but just to say that at one point in time, nearly all of us have had to make the same decision for those of ours that we love. The best thing to keep in mind, is do it for him not for you, don't be selfish in your wanting him to stay with you.

Love and kisses to Remo
I can tell how much you love Remo by the agony you are in . Making this decision is extremely stressful. None of us are qualified to say when the right time is ......... Just search your heart and ask yourself what you would want for yourself when your quality of life became this compromised ? We have all been in this painful situation and can only send loving thoughts to you and your family.
Camping is great. I'm really happy that you got to spend that great time with Remo!

I know the agony you are going through is jsut as bad if not worse than Remo's discomfort and I know you'll have the courage to do the right thing when the time comes.

One rub from me, please.
Just enjoy what time you can get, it won't make anything easier but you'll have some nice memories to help you in the bad times. All good and happy thoughts being sent your way :ghug:
Each day is a blessing, enjoy your quality and special loving time with Remo, know we are all here for you and remo as you take this part of Lifes journey together.

A lot of us have been through is it time or not, always hard to know when is the right time, you will know as you and Remo have a strong bond and saying goodbye eventually is the hardest thing to do, but we do it out of love and devotion for our best friend and part of that at the time is always "Questioned" after, did I do it too early or Did I leave it too long. Normal the doubts as to the appropriate time. Look into Remos eyes and look to see if the sparkle is still there, the eyes are the window to the soul.

Hugs and know we are thinking of you both :ghug:
:ghug:
How is Remo??
Hugs for you and gentle strokes for Remo, who sounds one very special dog...

Thank you for your support. Remo is not really any worse and not better. He's had diarrhea for the past two days so we're trying to get that under control. If I can bring myself to do it he'll be crossing over this week. I'm not saying for sure because I still don't know if I can let go yet.
I am so sorry for this heart breaking time. I do know exactly what you are going through. I had similar issues with my beloved Merlin.

Please make sure the time is right for HIM, not you. It's never easy to let go, no matter when. We walk a fine line at this stage of their lives, but we have to do what's best for them, no matter how much it hurts. I second-guessed myself for quite awhile after losing Drez, but now I see I did the right thing. I hope you can get to that point.
It really is so hard. I usually am guided by the vets as well. But deep down in your heart you do really know when the time is right. Whatever you do it will be the right thing., Keeping you in my thoughts...xx
