Skye was diagnosed with urinary continence today.

For the last few months Skye has been letting out little drips of urine and sometimes a full bladder without batting an eye. She would be lying down and when she got up there was a wet mess. Her bottom would be drenched and it seemed to not bother her. I have been struggling to figure out if it was behavioral or a UTI. Well good news is that her urine test came back with no abnormalities, no UTI, no diabetes, nothing wrong. Well we started her on Propalin tonight, and I am keeping my fingers crossed that she won't be on the medication forever.

I have been losing sleep worrying over what it could be. She is only four years old, but this appears to be common in spayed dogs. Poor baby had no idea that she had sprung a leak.

Oh bless, hopefully you can get sorted now..
ps I have now got to the age when I realise why my late Mum used to cross her legs when she sneezed!
Here's hoping it can be managed.

what did she do when she laughed :?
Skye may have to stay on the meds for the rest of her life. In the mean time work on building up her tummy muscles starting with low hurdles. Making her jump (assuming her hips allow) forces her to constrict her tummy. Work her up to some taller jumps. Make it a game, part of your walks together, anything to improve the muscle tone.

They may not help, and then you'd have a leaky flying sheepie, but at least you helped her keep the flab off.

Oh, too funny. I can see it in my mind. Hehe.

Sound advice. Some people have used accupuncture as well.

Forgot to sign in for that one...Thank you all for your replies. If she need to be on the meds for life I have found chewables. And if that is the case the vet said that she would most likely only have to take 1-2 per week. I the grand scheme this is just fine for us, she is otherwise very healthy and happy. And she will always be the light of my life :D
Skye has been on Proin for 8 days now and no accidents! We are all so happy for her!
Bella just started peeing in the house but I think it is a UTI. I took her to the vet, and he found nothing...but urine PH was off. I am going to have to have him retest her in a few days. It's like she can't hold it all night, and she doesn't wake me. I just need to get this figured out...I feel so bad for her.
