pedigree research

OK, I need some help. I'm sure this is a long shot, but I'm looking for pedigree info on any dogs registered (or not) with the kennel prefix D'Manka, Sherman, Kepple or Trehal in their pedigrees. It's for a friend of mine. Not critical, but she'd like to be able to donate blood - well, her rescue dog would - for the OESCA DNA blood drive. We have half of her boys pedigree, but no litter info on him directly or I could look it up.

Also, if any of you happen to be glancing at your dog's pedigree and notice Spears Sir George Langly and/or Sir george's Apache (father and son) in there, would you contact me please? No, I don't know anything specific health wise about them. I just have a feeling the boys may have been busy

Thanks so much!
Kristine

Hi Kristine some info for you on "Sherman" from an OS data pedigree base.

SHERMAN OF TWIN T
Sex : m
Birth : - -
Breed : OES
Color :
Number : WC498847
Title :
Extrainf:
Pedname :
Father : BARNSTORM:CINDERFELLA
Mother : *UNKNOWN V
Breeder : ONBEKEND
Owner : ONBEKEND

Think Breeder and Owner means Unknown in a foreign language I think.

Another link from an OS data base on another Sherman one but again not much info as to what is behind this one.

Wow, Lisa! Thank you! :D

The two Terry dogs were both OFA'd so I could glean some more info that way. I now have six generations on the dog's dam. Here's another one for you:

CH Bagashag's Major League McGoo

I have sire/dam and the sire's pedigree reads like a who's who of Fezziwig, Rivermist, Prospectblue, yes, including our old friend, Shaggy Boy. That was interesting. But I can't find anything on the dam McClyman's Pansy, nor do I know the Bagashag kennel name.

My friend's dog also goes back to Rivermist Pimson.

I think it's going to be a serious challenge to find info on the sire of my friend's dog-- that's going to take tracking down someone who actually purchased a puppy from his litter. We know two of the littermates, but they were both rescued. One is deaf. The owner of the other one somehow had some pedigree info. The two owners didn't know about each other until one applied to adopt a(nother) rescue the first one was fostering! Small world, eh? They're having a reunion of sorts this weekend.

There were three bitches registered from the dam's litter, including the dog's dam: D'Manka's Mavis and sisters D'Manka's Molly and D'Manka's Hazel. The breeder lived in NW Wisconsin, closer to the MN border, I think. Now I just need to figure out who Mavis was bred to. I think we have a DOB on the pups. I'll double check. Nothing she produced was registered under that kennel name.

Since some of these dogs look to be descendants of much used stud dogs (it's a guess, but there are four with AKC DNA #s), I figure there are other relatives out there. It would be really helpful if people would look at their dog's pedigrees if they got one and consider donating to the DNA blood drive. It's not just the show dog popular stud muffins who have had a tremendous impact on this breed, you know?

This one is Sir George's Apache

Bagashag's Major league Mcgoo shows on an Overseas Data base, but no info behind who the dam and sire is. Bagashag and the dams line of McClyman's are they usa prefixes or elsewhere the country of origin for those prefixes? Do you know? If so will run the names through a few Overseas data bases and see if they come up.

Ooooh detective work
Go Lisa, Go!!!!
I love this thread, I find it exciting :D :D

I know! Isn't it exciting!!!

I'm not 100% sure about country of origin, but it looks to be American. The Bagashag's dog's sire is a Double JJ dog. Definitely reg AKC - I have the number. I don't have a reg number on his dam, but what looks to be like the AKC stud book info, so can look up her reg # at least. That means if worse comes to worst, I can pay to get a copy of her pedigree, which I may end up doing if I get frustrated enough, but that cost can add up quickly.

I need to do some other stuff today but will try to get back to it tonight :D Then we can update the furcertain database and you can look for yourself to see what's still missing if you're so inclined. I'll post when I get that far. I'm supposed to be doing accounting work, not playing with pedigrees. Oh, yeah, so motivated right now. Ack!

Anything you come up with is always much appreciated!

Tell me about it! The dog's owner started sending me pedigrees on all of her dogs and it turns out her youngest is related to her oldest. As in her older girl's mom is the full sister of one of her youngest boy's ggg grandfathers...

She had no idea! Especially since she got them from very different sources. Her rescue's breeder was known, but that was about it.

Of course, that got me going, so now I'm in full pedigree mode and wondering what other interesting surprises are out there. When I should be doing other things...This stuff is so seductive though.

Kristine
Kristine, Keep searching, :D And I will definately keep reading. :D
Wow!
I wish I had read this last year as I had a lot of info on Sir George's Apache and Trehal's Anna Bell. Sorry! Did any of the pedigrees I gave you help with this research?
Here is another site with thousands and thousands of oes pedigrees, some of it is inaccurate I've been told but everytime I've looked something up it HAS been accurate.

I'm hoping when i get back next month from Korea, and getting ready to be bed bound/post recovery surgery to do, i found a program for doing pedigrees in the round. I want to eventually do them in calligaraphy. I saw one done years and years agon and it was the most beautiful piece of 'art' i had ever seen.

I'll have to do one out and upload it.

I was just digging through a box of some old stuff of mine and I came across the AKC registration for my Lucy....

Her poppa was Spears Sir George Langly.

We got Lucy at a mall pet store in 1995!
Let me guess.... :lmt: Her momma's registered name was Spears Lady Spud....
