Hudson's getting this housebreaking thing finally...question

Our little (evil) Hudson (four months and three weeks old) is finally starting to show an interest in being housebroken. He'll go to the door, and if we're watching closely and make it there within the first eight seconds, will go outside and do his business. If we're upstairs in the TV room he'll actually scratch frantically at the door, and we can run him down the stairs and outside. We still take him out frequently even when he doesn't ask, but we are so very happy that he's starting to ask.

YAY FOR HIM! (and for us!)

So, we're going to keep working (obviously) but here's my question...(background first)...

Right now Hudson's making it outside and does his business in a corner of the deck. This wasn't our first choice, obviously, but when he was just a little fellow it seemed a lot to ask for him to hold it all the way down the stairs, across the house, out the door, across the deck, down those stairs, along the path, and finally do his business in the grassy area. When we take him out ourselves we walk him there, but when it's "urgent" he runs out the door, and barely makes it to his favourite place on the deck.

Right now we're great with him just making it outside, but of course we would like him to go to the grassy area (just like his big brother Portage).

What's the best way to "move" him to a new spot later on? Is there a spray (I tried a commercial one for inside, drenched a shoe in it, he sniffed it once and then chowed down happily on the shoe. I can still smell the spray in that area of the house and hate it. Apparently he's a person and I'm the puppy!)

Any advice for the best way to "move" his spot? We'd like him to go in Poo Corner (as it's appropriately named) reguarly when he's older. Any advice is very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Tracie, Portage, and (almost a big boy now) Hudson! :go:

   We have a Poo Corner too!!

When he can hold it longer, or you know when he will need to go, put him on the leash and take him to Poo Corner. When he does his stuff PRAISE LIKE CRAZY.
I also suggest keeping a diary of feeding times and toilet times, you will then know pretty much exactly when he needs to go. We did this and realised if the feeding times stay the same, the poo times do too :D

My boy doesn't ask to go out yet, and he's nearly a year  I just make him go out when I think he needs it, this seems to be OK.

Luna has been a challenge to get to ask to go out too. She usually waits for Tonks to ask, and then goes along.

We started bell training, and its week 3 and Luna is finally asking to go out with the bell! Tonks is using it to ask to go out to play.
I'd use enzyme cleaner to try to kill some of the scent and put something in front of that area so he can't get to it for awhile. Kind of force him into the yard, so to speak and get him used to not peeing on the deck.
