On this date in 1981, Paul McCartney’s Old English sheepdog, Martha, died at Paul’s Scottish farmhouse. She was 15. She was also the inspiration for the song, “Martha, My Dear“.

The reason I have had sheepies for over 30 years...Martha was my first OES sighting.
