Picnic in September in Michigan?

Since someone inquired, what kind of participation would I get out of trying to plan some sort of get together for September? August is so hot and I think we'd be a lot happier in September-- not to mention, my August is booked pretty solid right now so it would be tough to plan.

Here's what I'm looking for to start and we can start figuring things out:

Are you interested in attending an event in Michigan in September?
What weekend/s would work best for you?
What kind of event would you like? Picnic? Dog park get together? Someone's house?
Are you willing to help plan/contribute food or something?

I also like September because the new puppy will be here by then, too (and will be allowed to play only if he has all his shots so let's hope for the latter part of September!).

I think the end of September would be best, those of us going to the Nationals should have recovered by then :D . I'll bring the food if you guys aren't sick of party subs yet. I vote for a picnic at someone's house, seems for comfortable than dog park.
Our home is always available :D
Thanks Laurie!

Since people aren't exactly piling on for anything in September, maybe we can do it sometime in October so our new puppy can be included. He'll still be without all his shots in September so we'll have to wait to bring him out in public with other dogs.
Plan it for after the Nationals AND the Chicago SheepieFest and we're in!

Just try to keep it before the snow starts flying.
Depending on the date(I do have to work some weekends) I will "try" to make it. How far is Ferndale from Milwaukee?

Checked and its 375 miles. We'd need a motel too.

I do want to see that puppy!!!!!!!
We're interested. Sounds like an excelllent idea!!! We sent you a PM.
