What a pretty girl!

(She's in Frederick MD)
AWW! Annie was making friends with the sheep, that's so sweet - poor little girl. Look at those sweet eyes - they're beautiful, captivating even. :hearts:

I hope she finds a family soon!
We would love her. How would I get her to NYS? Any help out there?
She's a beautiful girl.
Maybe operation Roger could help get her to NYS once rescue gets her. Has anyone contacted rescue for that area? I don't know which one it is.

NEOESR is currently covering MD. She is actually about 40 minutes from me, but with a newborn this week, I cant really help with transport - but GA has wonderful folks down here too.
Looks like a nice girl that could be a good playmate for Guinness -

**Hint, hint to 4 Dog Night.**

I hope nothing is wrong with her back legs with the way she is standing in that photo.
Yes looks like a great playmate.
I think she is standing that way because they are scratching her lower back in the photo. I am assuming she is newly shaved and itchy. Bella stands like that when you scratch her back.
Deb,

YOU tell BOB!!!! I have a lab here from GA undergoing HW treatment and have three GSD'S fron NC (well only one now.. the two females were adopted :) ) I don't think she is in danger of being PTS I will call the shelter monday and get the scoop. I wonder if they will release to rescue or if they want the $$ This shelter was on TV last night talking about folks not having the money for dog and cat food and that there were a lot of owner surrenders due to the ecomomy. It was a sad news cast........

Cindy

Guinness has pleanty to play with but a sheepie girl :D

We're starting to see a lot of that here, too, and I'm afraid it is only going to get worse... :(

Same with Southeast. It is really sad.

Oh my yes. just look at the projected state deficits in the larger states adn figure out how hard that hits when you get down the line.

If you don't remember the 70's you might want to read upon the history.

I have to say, though I understand times can be tough, that sounds like a convenient excuse, too. A bag of Nutro (Max or Natural Choice) in most areas is under $28. That's about $1 day based on a bag lasting almost a month. If you really care about keeping your animals, you'll find a way to come up with a buck a day. Heck, in states with bottle deposits, you can easily pick up that many cans a day. This doesn't apply if you're disabled or infirm but it does for all able bodied people.

I think what the economy does do is put the borderline pet owners over edge. Should I quit smoking or give up the dog? The dog, of course.

You are right in some cases, but those with ill animals that require treatment and medication it can add up to be too much. I know that with Titus and his hip dysplasia and arthritis, it can get expensive to keep him medicated. 8) Unfortunately I am afraid that we are losing the battle with managing hip pain though.

That's very true. I didn't consider sick dogs, I was really just talking about giving up animals because of the cost of food. Vetting dogs, especially dogs with special needs, can get very expensive even when you can afford it.
OK back on track Raggety annie was adopted and the shelter said it was a nice family....Back to owner surrenders (not annies case I think this family was just stupid) I put 60 bucks worth of gas in my car and that lasts maybe a week ( I am retired so it is just rescue stuff and running around) that equals 240 a month some folks don't clear much more than that a week and then throw rent or an escalating mortage, electric and home heating costs, fuel to mow the lawn , medical copays , groceries some folks have just had it.....I know my monthly bills are up . I am not saying it is right I am lucky I can feed 4 dogs a horse and a mini donkey! We are planning on seeding one of the fields to hay because hay is over 7 bucks a bale 8O The fuel to mow 13 acres is outrageous. anyway I guess you have to walk a mile in someone elses shoes. This girl is safe for now.
Yeah!! :clappurple:

Glad she was adopted. I have decreased my family's food bill to cover the cost of food for my animals. We all need to shed some weight anyway. lol. Just no extra expensive snacks anymore.

This economy really does suck. I saw where a woman killed herself because she was in forclosure. 8O
Thanks Cindy...
that is what I called you about earlier!
Thanks for the update
you could probably get her there with a paid transporter for around $100.
which is not bad with gas prices as high as they are.
She has been adopted :D
