My Dishwater has been leaking all under my new floor :(

Steve had noticed a smell in the kitchen last week! I said it was the smelly sheepie smell... hahaha!!!! as they had been in the wet grass.
Well!!! then I began to notice it too!!!!! Then I looked down on the floor and notices a Bump in the vynal floor which has only been down about 8 months. Anyway I showed steve and he said I will get the washing machine out! and have a Look!!!!

OOOOhhh It was all wet under there and all wet under the cupboards going along to the Dishwasher!!!!!. Anyway Because the vynal is sitting on ceramic tiles there is nowhere for the water to go and it just soaked all the way under the floor into my hall!!!!!!!!! :(:(..... booooo hooooo!!!!

The insurance people came out and I have to have a new floor!!!! the vynal is nogood.. So I will have to have those Horrible White Tiles on show till it all drys out... Then I can have a new floor fitted.....

Oh well I won't be doing it this weekend as im going to Wales to party for My Birthday....

In a way you were fortunate those white tiles were there. It could have gone into the subfloor. How are the cabinets???

How about mould??

Well, that's why we have insurance!

Happy Birthday :cheer:
Oh no thats not good.

At least the insurance will cover it. Its just having all the mess again.

have a great weekend - what time do you go to Wales??
I am sorry. We had a smiliar problem with an ice maker - on a wood floor. The insurance claim was almost twelve thousand - UGH. Since then, I have had something installed under the dishwasher and fridge called a " water bug." It sits under the appliance and shuts down the water source if it detects a leak. Soemthing you might want to look at - - -

PS - Happy Birthday!! :bdcake:
Oh No Kim! What a mess!!!! Well you can pick out new floor tiles for you kitchen if you want. The house we moved into three weeks ago had a leakage from the a/c backed into the duct and onto the carpet. What a mess that was to clean.

Forget about the problems and enjoy your 50th Birthday in Wales!
I had the same problem with my dishwasher. I also had flooring over ugly white tiie. We are going to cut out the laminate just where the flooring is badly damaged...in front of the sliding glass door. We are going to put new, nice tile over the old tile in that area. Redoing all of the laminate is out of the question. I feel your pain...it's just getting my husband to do it now that is taking so long. At least I have a new dishwasher now.
yes...be careful regarding mold!! if the water has soaked into the sides of the cabinets...even a little....mold can grow...samething with drywall, baseboards etc....check everything...if it is soft and has a give to it...it was saturated by water!
Have fun in Wales...same age as me...wish I was going there. I love Wales. North or South???
Kim, I'm really sorry to hear about your floors. What a huge PAIN!! The upside is you get new floors!! 8) That can be fun, but not nearly as much fun as a celebratory birthday weekend in Wales. Hope it's a blast!! 8)
Oh no what a pain! Haha I suppose the girls are offended that you thought it was them

Have a great birthday! I love Wales too! x x
