Appointment confusion at the Doctor's office

OK, so all month I've been thinking about and planning for a doctor's appointment I believed to be on the 23rd (this Wednesday). Last night, Joan asks me if I remembered my appointment for tomorrow (Monday).

I told her it was Wednesday, she insisted it was Monday. We found the card and it was for the 21st (Monday) at 1PM. OK, my mind must be slipping.

I get to the doctor's office and everyone exchanges greetings (Think "NORM!" on Cheers, but without the yelling) and after a brief pause... "Who are you here to see?"

"Dr. XXXXXXXX"
[headshake]

"Can you try the 23rd?" I ask, remembering the confusion.
[headshake] "Can you spell your last name?"

"M-U-D" (Or thereabouts)
"Your appointment is for the 22nd. Tuesday.

I wouldn't have scheduled an appointment on that day because it is Joan's birthday, and it turns out she has 3 doctor's appointments scheduled. She's strange like that.

So I make an appointment for Thursday and sure enough, Joan has another appointment for Thursday. Fortunately, if my doc doesn't keep me waiting for an hour, I will get the car home in time so that Joan will be able to make her appointment.

Life gets a little complicated when everyone (except Joan) screws up and you only have one car!

Mass confusion at Ron's house! What a way for Joan to spend her birthday. NOT.
Ha that sounds like our house here. We only have one car so anytime something out of the ordinary happens it always gets complicated. This Wednesday I have to bring Lee to work, bring Edgar to the vet, bring the car to the shop, and then go get Lee again when the car gets done. If I don't want to stay at the shop with the car then I have to organize complimentary drop off and pick up.

All of your appointments going on sounds WAY more confusing then my Wednesday coming up. Though I have to say that it is nice hearing that someone else out there only has one car. :) We have always had one car ever since we got married. I don't work and we don't have kids so there never seemed a good reason for two. Except for those really inconvenient appointment days its worked out good for us so far.
HA HA HA HA LOL

it is sooo very nice knowing that my household is not the only one who has these issues.... (& we HAVE 2 cars!!)
Think "senior moment" - then it's less embarassing
My husband scheduled a colonscopy for the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. I told him it was a bad day to do it as people like to take it off and get a jumpstart on the Holiday. Sure enough, they called on that Monday and rescheduled it.

So we show up on the rescheduled appt morning and they tell him that it had been rescheduled. They spoke to his secretary the previous week. Except he doesn't have a secretary, the phone number they called wasn't any that we recognized and my husband was mad. After all, the prep isn't the most fun thing in the world. Turns out they called another patient with the same name (not particularly common). They found a doc to do the procedure, but they were a bit concerned with his blood pressure.
Oh dear sounds like Joan's birthday was a big hit
First of all, Happy Birthday Joan.

Confusion. Colonoscopy - Nurse at desk said I wasn't scheduled when I had that done. Like others said, preparation it is NOT a joy ride!

I told her I was scheduled, and that one of those doctors in that hospital better be able to do it! Thankfully, my doctor had me scheduled!

Recently, I was told I have a blackage in one of the arteries in my neck. Had an appointment the next day to see a neurologist to get the results from all the tests he had done on me since the previous visit.

He tells me I have a severe blockage in my left lag and a moderate one in the right leg. My husband asked about the one in my neck that we were told about the day before..............

"There aren't any in your neck, they're in your legs............ So, I called the first doctor's office the next morning to have his nurse verify my test results, and it also said "legs!" But, that doctor listened to ny nexk and said he could hear some sort of sound???

What's with some of these doctors, their schedules and diagnosis!!!
 I always phone the out patients before I start the prep. for a colonoscopy just in case!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO JOAN!!!!!!!! What a way to spend your birthday. I'm sorry that all of you are going through this....dealing with dr's offices can be a pain. I hope everything turns out ok for everyone.
