Could have been real bad....

I dropped an opened safety pin on the floor last night. I looked and looked for it and of course it was no where to be found.

This morning, as I was getting ready for work, Heart was foaming at the mouth and kept chewing "something"...

I did a check of her mouth, couldn't find anything. She kept chewing and foaming.

I did another check of her mouth this time she almost bite me..not from being mean or scared, my fingers got in the way of her 'chewing'.

Finally, I got in there and put my hand down her throat..NOTHING..did a tooth by tooth exam...and THERE IT WAS~~~ stuck in her gums on the very last tooth....THE SAFETY PIN!!!!!

That dog will be the death of me yet!!!!!

She does ONE good thing...see thread ..(a brag) ...then chews on an open safety pin.

I know, I know....it's MY fault. but since I couldn't find it, I thought it went under the bed or something. Swiffering didn't find it..my eyes didn't find it...BUT HEART....of course....found it and thought it would taste good???????

I shudder to think if she had actually swallowed it.....

Phew! Dodged a potential calamity there.
That never would've happened in my house because I would've stepped on it. That's pretty much the way it goes!

Glad you were able to perform the extraction in time.
WOW!

The worst household near miss we ever had was when Doug discarded a razor in the wrong trash and Ty came trotting out to the living room with it in his mouth 8O
THAT IS SCARY! Thanks God it didn't turn into something worse!
OMG!! I would've been having a heart attack!! How frightening!! 8O
Oh, that sent shivers down my back just thinking of what "could have been." Thank God Heart's okay! :phew:
OMG - that was scary!

Lucky girl, Heart.
I had one that used to get disposable razors out of the shower and chew them - not good. Another case of the people getting trained to keep stuff put up.
Poor Heart. Glad you saved her from real damage. They're just like babies. The minute you're not watching the get into something.

This morning I let my guys run in the yard. I went inside for a minute and looked outside and they were both taking turns at eating something. Sure enough deer droppings. I don't know why I buy them dog food!
awww heart.....stop being a vacuum clean and just stay with the mopping....

im glad that she is okay....poor sweet thing...

I know.....Maybe I should save my money and get an x-ray of what exactly is in Heart's tummy...or worse... ((((Ron...where is the shudder icon..????  )))
OMG... Good thing you found it. I bet you were breathing a sigh of relief when you fingured out what it was and that you had gotten it before it was swallowed!

These dang dogs will never learn to stop giving us heart attacks-- will they?!? I think it is a conspiracy to see who will go insane first...
:twitch: Ugh my stomach is churning. I'm so glad she is ok!

Val, I've decided I don't want to know what's in Sybil's stomach. I think she's close to having used up her 9 lives.

Heart - thanks so much for scaring the heck out of everybody! I don't think even Sybil's come close to that one! 8O

Much relieved you caught it in time. Val. :phew:

George - mine don't settle for just eating poo. No, no, they like to WEAR it. :P

Me? I love a good pepperoni pizza, but not enough to want to roll on one.

Kristine
Kristine....you crack me up~~~~~~~~~~

(can you tell I'm bored...???)
8O

I am glad you got it in time, Val.

I thought Heart had a "taste for the finer things in life" like money and Dino's credit cards!

Heart that was not nice to scare your mommy like that!!!!! "Shame on you!"
Where have I heard that before?
:lmt: .............. :sidestep:

Oh dear god - an opened safety pin stuck in her gum - can it possibly get any worse?! My Patch dines occasionally, or when she can find it, on rabbit do - it is a delicacy to her. If I mixed it in her dog food she would LOVE it! So glad you found Heart's gum puncture before it became dangerously infected.
How scary!!!!! 8O
Been there...
Wilby had a fish hook stuck in his tongue one time!
Not so simple...of course we had to go to the vet at
1 in the morning!
Grandma had to get kids fishing poles for Christmas!!!!!
Wilby ate everything!

Glad the baby is okay and safety pen is recovered!
Well it must be in the air Val. Heart and Calypso did the same thing..... except here ti wasn't a small safety pin but a LARGE opened one....... WHERE she found it i have no idea.

Give her a hug from momma Ali............. and sisser Caly and momma dee...... tell her i said to bE GOOD.
glad to heart is ok.
