There is a saying......

Only mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the midday sun.

Well I could have done with a bit of that madness this morning as.

Only mad (Old English Sheep) dogs and English men go out in the 5:30 am downpour!

Archie thought it great, biting the sky  I however could have done without it, and there was a particular absence of any other dogs and their owners even the short haired ones. - I don't know why the original saying popped into mind? maybe something to do with saying "Archie are you mad?"

Me and my friend take the dogs out whatever the weather but we always say there are the fairweather dog walkers and the die hards!
Oscar and I walk every day, in sun, rain, sleet, snow.........my neighbors think I'm nuts. 8) The only time I will not walk him is during storms with lightening, and I think that just shows my sound judgement! :)

We have no choice but to walk where we live. We're just like the postal service- rain, sleet, etc. But surprisingly Bogie has some sense will take care of business, turn around and head home if the weather is too hot or wet. Sometimes it looks as if he is checking the weather before we step outside! A few times though we've been on a walk and he just stops dead in his tracks and I've had to coax him back home- not an easy task with an 85 lb. puppy!
He got soaked on his lunchtime walk, he'd just about dried - I detangled a few matts, and this evening there was a break in the rain, until about 1 minute after we set off  yup he is currently in the kitchen chasing the towel on his back

I'll upload some soggy pics in a mo' he isn't his usual fluffy self!
Oliver refused point blank to go out the door in the rain,
He ran out then back in when it stoped for about half hour,
He then spent the night sat by the door looking out,and looking back at me with big sad cow eyes,
as if to say "please make it stop mum"
Fortunately I have a covered entry to the house. I've had boys go to the end and lift their leg just so they didn't have to get wet while peeing. But of course the urine stream never quite made it off the porch  Thankfully they didn't turn around and poop too!

Arch.......you are cute even when wet. Glad you enjoyed the rain, but you really must invest in a bright yellow rain coat.
