Puppy nose still Pink

I have just found your forum. And loving all the infor. that I can find. My husband and I just got and Old English Sheepdog puppy and his noes is still pink and black at 16 weeks old. He also has pink all around his mouth and eyes except a few spots of black. We found him at a shelter and could not leave without him. We went right to the vet and had him checked out. The vet says that he is in fine health. I just wanted to know if you think that his coloring will change to black or maybe by what I described he is half OES? Either way we love him. :D

I think by 16 weeks, if his nose was going to go all black, it would have. But I'm pretty new to all of this too; anyone else want to weigh in?
You usually have up to about 8 months for the pigment on the nose to fill in. Most do so when they are ready to leave the nest at about 8 weeks onwards, some are just slow in the pigment department. Eye pigment again the same, some take forever, some don't get eye pigment (Liner around the eyes) and some have it early. Some are very late maturing too.

16 weeks I would not be worried for the nose not filling in yet, there all different in their maturity level. Most keep throwing pigment all their lives.

eg. Pink nails turning black, pads on the foot gradually turning black, above the nose on the muzzle, black creeping up there, all different levels of pigment developing over their life time.
 Thank you, for both of your inputs. I'm a new mommy and was just wondering about my big boy puppy. I kept looking at all the OES puppy pictures on the net and none of them seem to have the pink on the nose like mine. And thought that this would be the perfect place to ask. Again thank you.
Oscar's nose was about 60% pink when we brought him home at ten weeks old. It took him over a year for his nose turn fully black, but he is still pink around his eyes and mouth. (He's now 4.)

Don't forget the sunscreen on that little pink snout! :)

well color me educated! Thanks guys!
welcome to the forum we would love to see pics and thanks for rescueing him
Welcome to the forum! Glad you found us- you'll find a lot of good advice and good people here. My pup's nose pigment took several months to fill in and I noticed that the inside of his nose took even longer.
Congratulations & Welcome :D
I was the one that posted under new2oes and thank you for all making me and my puppy welcomed. Suzptcruize wanted to see pictures. They are hopefully in the icon of the camera. But if not they are under the puppy album. I just took them and they are great nose pictures to see that pink and black. Which I will sunscreen (never hear of that before) while he is outside.
Oh he IS a cutie patootie!! Thanks for sharing the pictures and WELCOME to the forum. :D
He's adorable! Congrats!! :D
My Simone never developed a nice black lined eye on one side. Each morning I tell she has such a pretty little "pig" eye. Show dog she's not and I really don't like the pink eye, but it is cute.
Curious. Did the nose blacken in?
We have a black nose with one tiny pink dot and pink eyes. All my other oes's had black round eyes when we got them as tiny babes.x
My puppy is 3 and a half months old; one of his eyes is completely rimmed in black and the other was completely pink when he arrived (8 weeks old). Slowly (it started as a black dot) he has developed a Black liner around the top of his eye. I think it depends on the colour of the fur in that area somwhat. The eye that has black fur around it (his pirate patch) is brown and has black liner all around it. The eye that is in the white side of his face is dark blue with only a half liner. Although he is still young and the black liner around his eyes seems to grow every week as he does. Puppies are full of surprises so you never know what you're going to get. :)
