Looking to rescue an OES (Very sincere)

I am in southern MO, with quick access to Arkansas and Oklahoma. I'm also willing to travel elsewhere.

I have submitted an application for adoption with NEOESR. Unfortunately (for me) the little guy I had my eyes on is already placed with another family. I was referred to another person in my state who sometimes rescues OES.

I am a young, single gal, with plenty of time to keep up with all of that hair (and attention) maintainance. My step-father owned an OES, who quickly became my best bud!

I love the companionship that an OES can provide. I enjoy the protective aspect, and a loud warning bark. But really, I am needing a big OES teddy bear. Please help me find a companion. I am a special education teacher, looking to make a good bond before the school year starts again.

If anyone can be of any help, have any questions regarding what I could provide (yard, etc.), or anything else I would surely appreciate it. I can be reached at 2000vb at gmail.com and will be checking this forum.

Thank you in advance! :)

Hi and welcome!

You really should register as a member here. People will be able to contact you privately, you will receive notifications about replies to important (to you) threads and it is easy and safe. We (usually) don't bite.

In addition, once you have your bundle of fur you will want to talk all things Sheepie with us!

Be sure to submit your application to many rescues to help you find just the right situation and just the right dog.

A list can be found here:

True, but well worth the wait. I've been watching the rescue missions around us for the past 6-8 weeks. I put in applications to 4 missions so my info would be on file. Last week, we found our bundle of fuzz. After much discussion here at home, then with the rescue mission and foster dad, we drove to GA Friday and picked up our Mini Moose.

Today is our first day home all day with him. He's so fun to watch. Ralph, our older OES, is probably going to loose a few pounds running and playing with Moose.

Check out our baby at www.deafmoose.blogspot.com . Stew, his foster dad started this and has done a wonderful job fostering.

Good luck on your search and check out all the missions around you.
You're the one who got deaf Moose?

8) I'm sure he's in great company now.

Thank you for your words. They are helpful.
Yes, we have Mini Moose. I forgot what it is to have a puppy in the house again! Ralph was also 18 months old when we got him, but his energy level was a bit lower than Moose's.

I've posted a few pics on the Picture Section and of course, they're on my photo book.

Hang in there, your dog is out there.
