Does anybody know anything more about this lady?
By the time I saw her it was too late to call...
She is so beautiful!
Daisy is about 7 years old and
they do believe she is deaf!
She was an owner turn in due to food
aggression with other dogs.
They have not put her with other dogs
at the Humane Society.
Anybody???
I will take her if she can be picked up!!!!
I will have to talk to the shelter manager
tomorrow.
I don't know if they want her to go into rescue
I would love to have her!
Could the granddaddy of all rescue angels Jim Spurling help?
I spoke to a person at the shelter and got some slightly different info about Daisy.

She was adopted from the shelter when she was about one year old. She's been with her family for about 5-6 years and the reason they turned her back to the shelter is because she has a food aggression problem that has become significantly worse over time and their other dog (who was with them before they got Daisy) is not safe around her.

Her food aggression problem is so severe the shelter will not adopt her to anyone who has another pet. There have been a number of parties interested in adopting Daisy but they had other pets and the shelter turned them down.

She is not completely deaf, but she has significant hearing loss.

That's the bad news.

The good news is that the people at the shelter adore Daisy and are committed to placing her in the right home. They say she's an amazing dog. She's wonderful with kids and people. She's about 70-80 pounds.

This is a no-kill shelter in Mentor Ohio, east of Cleveland just off Interstate 90. They don't euthanize unless a dog becomes very ill or displays aggressive behavior that they cannot figure out and deal with.

The shelter is having an outdoor adoption event this weekend, so if anyone is interested in meeting Daisy in a very relaxed atmosphere, it's the perfect opportunity!

I called the shelter again....
the first thing I was asked is
"Did I know she was deaf?"

That is not bad news to me.
Good news that all the other
dogs in the kennel are not stressing
her with their barking :D

They have not had her with other
dogs, the owner that surrendered
her said she was food aggressive
with other dogs.

I left my info if they wanted help.
I am sure they will do what is best for her.

I'm sure he could! We rescued an 11 month old sheepdog puppy from Jim and his lovely wife some years ago, ( end of 2000 ).

He rescued Gulliver from West Virginia and contacted us. We drove down to Dayton Oh while he drove up from Kentucky.

Gulliver is a wonderful rescue and is alive and well along with his older brother Obe and his younger brother Boo Boo Bear.

Jim, Thank you so much!

so, what happened with daisy?????
I left my info for them but, they were wanting to adopt her out
themselves....hoping she was adopted as she is not on PF
anymore!
