Mr. J GOT A JOB (Guess Where?) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm so stoked :clappurple:

I'm so proud of him even if it may not be where we want to go. Actually, will it be where we want to go? Hmm...

He has until July 2nd to accept an offer. The top 2 companies he wanted has told the headhunting company they're interested in him, but he hasn't received an offer yet. Mostly because those two companies haven't turned in their pick (they HAVE to pick one of the handful of guys they did follow-up interviews on).

So, I guess the headhunters said they will call his top 2 picks and tell them they have until July 2nd to take him or he's going to "X"

I JUST wanted him to get a job, and he did that, so I couldn't be happier!!! Now I don't have to worry about whether or not we'll have health insurance (my biggest concern).

I decided to tell everyone where we will be going by posting a pic of that location once we get there. I think it'll be fun. :)

I'm so excited that I can start looking for homes, etc... even if we can't afford one there (or can we)?

(they haven't turned in which of the guys they interviewed they will take on). 8)

We're going to:

Illinois
Houston
Ohio

Congrats! I look forward to finding out where you end up. :D
What not Australia :P

Congrats to you all and look forward to hearing where you are all moving too. :clappurple:

Exciting times ahead. :D
Woohoo! Great news! :) Can't wait to find out the final destination....
My guess without seeing the 3 choices was Austin TX. Since that is not a choice, my guess is Ohio. Cincinnati. Chicago would be nicer though!
WOOHOO! Good news!
Great news :!: :!:
YAY for Mr. J :D . Il and OH are both close to MI............. :)
I AM HOPING FOR OHIO... :)

CONGRATS!
Congrats to Mr. J!! I fully understand how health care coverage was a concern, especially with two small children. Can't wait to hear where you're heading!
Chicago would be the area with expensive homes...hmmmm...
Congrats to the whole family!

Mrs J, how are you going to take the heat in Houston???

Ohio is ok and Illinois would be great but I think its Houston.

When is the big move?
I think it's Houston too.
Congratulations Mr. J (and Mrs., of course!).

It must be so much nicer to have this part settled!
Congrats to all the Js!!!!!

I'm guessing its Houston..but I'm hoping, it's Illinois!!!!!

Mark your calender for SheepieFest!5 October 4th!!!!!!!!!

(Paula, if it is Illinois, we get some of Mrs J's great cooking!!!!)
Oh, if Ohio, pity it's not Cleveland as I know someone with a home for sale and is VERY, VERY motivated to sell it.

Well, no matter where you end up, you'll find a way to enjoy it. Each has many good points.

We'll save the congratulations until the deal is done........and you sell your home there!!!
I vote for Ohio.... of course I am partial to Ohio since it's our Homestate (thanks to the military we have not lived there in waaaay too many years)

O H I O.....

I am happy for you that he found a job. I can just imagine the stress of not knowing... Congrats!!
That's so exciting! When will the big move happen? Are each of the potential offers in different places?
yes and in mid august. :excited:

So nervous about finding right schools, and it almost a year before I could drive myself to the mall. Mr. J still jokes about it. Mind you, the mall is just straight down the highway...no turns or anything. I do best in the kitchen ...and making babies. ;)
rat i thought you might list fla.. that is great news
Where in Illinois would you be? If it's Chicagoland and you need some moral support going to the mall, I'm your girl!
so when are you going to tell us??
When we get there in August. :P

As far as where in Il ...somewhere around wheeling ...wherever we can afford rent.

In houston, cypress county ...maybe klein.

In Ohio, we've been looking at real estate in monroe and trenton area.
Wheeling is sorta inbetween all of us!!! And...Wheeling has its own Hackneys, home of the onyum loaf!!!!!!!!!! :clappurple:
Didn't that last response just spill the beans? :D :D :D
Hi Jo!

Please check your pm box :(
congrats on the job, that's great.
Aw shucks you mean you're not moving to Vancouver?

>>crosses arms, legs and eyes..

>>>appears cross

>>>is bent outta shape

:? However congrats on the job offer!

Marianne
this is a little side note....but does anyone watch diners, drive in and dives on the food channel.....they actually did a clip on Hackneys....and their onion loaf....it does look quite amazing!
I do but haven't caught that episode yet! Is Hackney's a place debcram has mentioned or a place they got together with people on here?
both...i think it is a deb and paula place originally...but they had that get together with stacy and a few others this past fall........
Oh Darcy! I missed that!!! Yes, Mrs J...Hackney's is da place!!! Y'all have to come here and try them. They also have wonderful Hackney burgers (on dark bread) and corned beef and cabbage, and of course Rueben sandwiches.

Oh...and wonderful vodka tonics
Glad to hear of the progress. Be looking for the final location.
Did someone mention onyum loaf???????? 8O
Wheeling is the town right next to mine!!! We actually lived there in a coach home for about 3 years. Now you have me thinking about all the places where he could have received an offer. Oh that would be fun!
congrats on the job offer and wherever you end up I hope it is a place that will make all your dreams come true :D
boo hoo i was hoping Colorado........... but glad you guys have offers......
been there done that!

May need to find out who Mr.J's headhunter was.......maybe he can find somehting back here for Norm!!!
ooh, congrats on mr j finding a job! But BOO to you for keeping us in the dark for so long as to where you're going to be!
I can't even think right now. Today it becomes official as Mr. J accepts a job offer. It REALLY came down to the wire as the Pres. of one company called our house real late to give him another job offer. So now that other offers are on the table (all in the 3 locations mentioned), we feel the ball is really in our court.

We stayed up until almost midnight (deciding what to do). Then to top it off, got up at 4 to talk again.

Mr. J deserves something special tonight. Guess I shouldn't eat too much so I can fit in it tonight.
Congrats to Mr J on the multiple job offers!!!!

(Just so ya' know, if you move to Wheeling, you'll be surrounded by sheepies, not that this would affect your decision or anything....... :) :)
Debcram and I are about 25 minutes away.........)

Best of luck with your decision.

Laurie and Oscar
We are actually looking around Palatine area.

Since we haven't officially accepted any offer, I have been calling all three areas nonstop about housing. Palatine and Arlington Heights were our areas of choice. We can't afford Buffalo Grove, Lake Bluff, or Glenview.

Middleton is our choice in Ohio.
Palatine and Arlington Heights are excellent choices! My very favorite Italian Restaurant is in Arlington Heights. Its were Tony and I got engaged!

Oh! I do hope its our area!!!!
OMG! Are you really moving around here? OMG OMG OMG! This is so exciting! I think Arl Hts is the better choice between those two burbs you mentioned. Schools are better as well. OMG OMG!

Which place? I've been to a wonderful place right in the downtown area near the theater and thought it was great. I can't remember the name, but want to go back. Yum yum!
Will you be here in time for SheepieFest!5 which is October 11th???????? And the herding gig the day after. Cuz Yuki shows a talent for herding.

I prefer Arlington Heights to Palatine.
It would be mid August we get there. I don't want to get anyone excited b/c we really aren't sure where we want to go. Where we THOUGHT we wanted to go keeps changing due to the benefits each company keeps offering. We've gotten so many calls this morning since the deadline is hours away. It started off pretty clear where we were heading, but now it's coming down to where lil J get the best special ed coop!
We go to Pompai (spelling?). Its in the shopping center at the SW corner of BG Rd and Lake Cook. Its right by Yen Yen. It is wonderful and very authentic! We'll have to meet you and Steve, Auntie Paula, Laurie and AJ and Mr & Mrs J there sometime!

Oh yummy! They have fantastic food and it's no more than 2 miles from my house. I'd LOVE to eat there!
