What IS IT about the toilet???????

I give........ I don't know WHAT the excitement is all about.....
Tonight i was in the bathroom, 'on the throne' and had 3 of the 4 with their heads in the little bitty room staring at me..... :? as if they were worried i was going to fall in and flush down the drain...... 8O

I don't know WHY it struck me tonight as funny/wierd after HOW many years of not being to do these things by myself, but to have 3 of them staring at me....... and THEN the CAT came in and jumped in my lap...

Anyone else :?:

Always. They all seem to think I'm in perfect petting position. As much as I love them, this doesn't thrill me, so when it gets too crowded in there I back them out and shut the door. When I walk out I inevitably have a crowd staring at me: "she made it out alive!!!" (I guess)

The cat is the only one who is interested in the toilet when I'm not on it. He likes to watch the water swirl down when it's being flushed.

They're all seriously peculiar and probably need counseling

I gave up privacy rights when I became a Mom.
So now I usually have at least one kid and one dog that follow me into the bathroom at all times. Sometimes more than one of each.

What wrong with him?

I quit shutting the door least it get scratched up. Yes, all four come in so it gets cozy, sometimes growlie. Harry will try for a snuggle trying to get as close to me as possible. The rest think I'm in an ideal position to give head and butt scratches.

Could the starring relate back to our being on the other end of the leash when they relieve themselves so they assume this is a mutual event?

No, mine don't stare, they want me to interact with them. If I'm there long enough they wander away. Moral: grab a magazine, they realize it's going to be awhile and leave.
Sometimes I am successful in closing the door before he can come in. But now he races to get in before the door can close.
Mine really won't stay closed - at least not to be dog proof.

It is one of those accordian pleated doors. I hated it and promised to change it when we moved here almost 20 yrs ago. No - when it broke we got a new one - same kind! There is really nowhere for a door to swing, and we just got used to it!

The dogs love it - no one is safe in the bathroom. I even had Maggie in the tub showering with me one time......
Are you guys kidding me? I love it. When I "go.." I tell one of the animals to follow me so I have company.

Only problem is, when guests come and they don't let them in the bathroom, they know how to pry the door open esp. if they go through the other side where it's a sliding door. The dogs use their nose and the cats paw at the bottom to completely open it. You have no idea how many times we've had guests scream.

lol  Same here!!!

If I even try and shut the door there is a kid outside the door who is begging me to open it, they can't talk through the door  There is also usually a cat and atleast one dog in there. When I get out whoever was not in with me is waiting outside in the hall. It beats me what all the fuss is about but I have gotten used to it :)
well at least i'm not alone (HAHAHAHA) in this matter! :cheer: :yay: :excited: :cheer:  :ghug: !! It just really struck me last night........
You mean it's actually possible to close the door 8O . Live and learn :D . If I tried to close the door mine would probably think I'm hiding out and eating something great....not that I eat in the bathroom
I have always suspected that my animals had watched old X-File and are afraid that something will get me if I am alone. My old girl likes to lie across the doorway just outside of the door, and wait for me to walk out into the dark hallway. Before I learned this resulted in me tripping and falling over her. Now I open the door and look around for furry speed bumps.
No...you're not alone! :D When I "did" have sheepies in the home, Roxy would always burst though the door...stand in front of me...wait for her kiss on the forehead...then turn around and walk out. Carmella would stand in the hallway, look at me through the crack of the door, then she would come in and lay on the floor the whole time. When I was in the tub...she would stand there with her head hanging over the edge of the tub...sometimes lapping up a couple gulps of water.

Gotta love em!!
Well this is a new one as of this morning. I was taking my shower (shower is separate from the bathtub), hubby comes in the bathroom and then says hey look here. I open the door to the shower and presto chango Sophie hopped in the shower with me    cant even take a shower anymore. geez.
Nigel likes to lie in the bathroom. He always looks at me like I am disturbing him, then puts his head back down. I think it is something you just get used to with being owned by sheepies. Isn't it normal to have company every time you go? :?
We have a sliding door on the toilet downstairs and when we have visitors I tell them be prepared for sticky beaks sticking there heads in.

They slide the door open on visitors, I could be mean and not tell them of the impending company

I really need a sign for the Toilet door, "Be Prepared for NO PRIVACY and furry visitors"

There a curious mob sheepies.

Maybe it has something to do with why they follow each other outside when one goes potty. They not only wanna smell it, they wanna see it too!!!
Yes I have this problem too. Rufus also has to put his head in the bin, knock over all the shampoo bottles and try to eat the soap. He knows when I'm on the loo he can get away with things because I can't move until I'm done LOL.

The worst thing is when we are visiting someone else's house, Rufus has to come in with me. It always causes alot of laughter at my MILs

And public loos. People walk in and hear me saying "NO! LEAVE IT!" then I emerge with sheepie and have to wash my hands while everyone is staring at me
you sure arent alone! if the door is open, panda will want to interact...a magazine doenst work because she noses it out of my hand....and if the door is closed, i get the nose under the door doing the large heavy sniffs.....sigh....you just cant win
i'm going to open a new thread............

What is it about.....???? i've come up with so many new WHAT IS IT ABOUT's in the past 2 days.................

LOL
I never had a problem with privacy UNTIL Heart came into our family...................(Thanks ALOT Ali!!!!)...

Now I am NEVER alone. Heart is generally laying on my feet and grunts if I move...I guess she doesn't like being disturbed!!!!!!

   Liz is like that at my house.

When I was home at lunch I had to use the facilities and actually sat on my cat's tail 8O :twitch:

There's probably a 12 step program for some of these critters. Possibly their owners as well....

PLEASE SIGN US UP!!!!!!! (now!!!)
toilet + shower + bath = Visitation rights for Obe. Visitors he doesn't seem to bother... or they dont scream anyway.
Oh No one is safe in our house. Baloo MUST go to the potty with each of us when we go. Last weekend we went to Ohio and while there he even had to follow me to the bathroom at my sister's.

He sticks his head in the shower while I am in it. He tries to eat the soap too.

if I manage to get him out of the bathroom and close the door he will push on it till it opens. (only the little 1/2 bath downstairs latches well)... so I never can keep him out. I finally just gave up and let him know when I need to go....

I am SOOOOOOO glad that I am not the only one. *WHEW* :)

Sybil once ate a bar of soap. I can't imagine why that would be appealing :P Maybe her brother double-dared her or something.

Her nine week old cousin discovered the fine art of toilet paper unravelling last night. She wrapped it around Belle, who, being Perfect, was horrified at the thought of being implicated in the crime. Or just disgusted with the critter. Hard to say

Oh my - I must tell LeAnne!
Martha eats soap too - all the time! 8O
And I really doubt that Clay put her up to it......
It appears another familial quirk is surfacing. (No soap for Chewie - and he has had opportunity to sample it if he wanted to). Or, maybe I have the wrong flavor.

Sybil is partial to Dove bars....maybe it's a case of mistaken identity - soap COULD look like icecream I guess.

Maybe it's a sex linked trait. Lord knows in Sybil's piggy case, her innards following soap consumption are the only thing clean about her. So much for sugar and spice and everything nice...

My apologies to LeAnne. Nothing in my pedigree research indicated a predeliction for soap, but I guess now we know

LOL - Yes, it is also Dove soap.

She was amazed when I told her about Sybil and the soap - "oh, reeeaallly, how interesting".

now I need to call her and tell her it is the same soap!

edit - I called her - and asked her to guess the soap Sybil prefers - her answer was - "Dove". And she laughed.
She said Martha really is turning out to be just like her sisters. The sweetness is there, but only as a guise to make you think she is all sweet!
