I have a handsome 11 year old OES, who is my pride and joy. He has developed diarrhea for the last two months. Took him to the Vet who took blood, feces sample, the works. Nothing. He suggested we change his food - 4 times! We did...nothing..until we started feeding him "people food". My husband cooked some natural rice, peas, and lean meat. After awhile, Bogie's health got better. Took him to the Vet last week and he wanted to put Bogie on another diet IVD food for sensitive stomachs. We did...now we are back to ground zero. Anyone else experience this?

Thanks.
If Bogie's health seemed improved with a natural diet and you have time to do this, I would stick with that. Make sure you do include some fats though, and especially omega 3 and 6 fatty acids. There are plenty of websites on how to cook a natural diet for your dog to make sure you don't leave out essential nutrients, things like apples, pears, carrots, some grains, and enough meat to provide adequate protien, iron and other nutrients.
If the vet doesn't feel that diet is appropriate then give the new one a try but do it very slowly....
Good luck! Smile

Thank you. Just what I needed to hear. I was thinking about introducing adequate vitamins, nutrients, etc. into his "people diet" too. Merry Christmas!
Sold Gold has a supplement it is vitamins and minerals given by the weight of the dog they do not put the vitamins and minerals in their food they feel during the processing the vitamins and minerals lose some of their quality. You could add small amounts to see if your sheepie does not get an upset stomach from them. I hope things are better
