Flea and Tick prevention

I've never treated my pups with flea and tick prevention, but I'm hearing of more and more cases. So, I think its time to start.

What do you guys recommend?

I would highly recommend Frontline Plus. It looks like a lot in the tube, but it evaporates very quickly.

We've tried the Advantax as well, but I HATED it. Oliver was allergic to it, it didn't evaporate very quickly (so it ran down sides, all over his hair and eventually the floor), it turned his white hair yellow, was so greasy (so much so I had to wash my hands after I pet him), and it was more expensive!

I would also recommend getting it online, so much cheaper than from the vet.
I don't know if you have them in your area, but Pet SUpplies Plus also sells Frontline (behind the counter).

Where are you buying it online? I've found my vet's prices to be very competitive as I've looked online to buy Heartgard and Frontline before and the prices difference was only a few dollars when all was said and done. I wonder if I'm just not looking in the right place. You're not buying generics are you?

frontline is bette if you have ticksl advantage if your issue is fleas.

We recently tries ProMeris on all four dogs and am very happy with the results. My vet says there will be two new products out later this sumemr as well.

No generics. I buy from Pet Meds. It is $50 for 3 months (with free shipping on orders over $40) vs. $75 for 3 months from my vet (Oliver is only 75 pounds).
Maybe my vet just charges an outrageous amount?
I also buy Oliver's Consiquin Pet Meds. They have a good price on it-$69 ($59 after my coupon) for 120 pills, verses $1/pill from my vet.

Does my vet charge too much?

Do you need a Rx to order?
Nope, not from Pet Meds.
