Hello from Eastern NC!

My name is Kristi and I live in eastern NC with my family. We've had four OES since 1989 with the last three being rescues. Our first rescue was Chelsea. She was only 4 months olds when we brought her home. She was purchased to show, but being deaf the owner could not show her. He instead took her to the vet to be put down. Through a series of events, we brought her home with us. She was a wonderful pet and so smart.

We have adopted two others since Chelsea. We currently only have Ralph at home. He was 18 months old when we adopted him. He settled right in and has lead a very spoiled life since coming through our back door.

We are currently watching the local rescue missions in hopes of adopting another fuzzy puppy which is how I found this forum. There is so much information here and the love of Sheepies is very evident. Thanks to the moderators who make this such a great forum.

Welcome from Florida.

I see you had a dog named Chynna Bear...I have an Aussie named China Aqua...(click on my camera and you can see pics of her. She is the one with Blue eyes.)
Well hello there! Hi to Ralph, too!

Glad you joined us. Welcome.
Enjoy and good luck on your quest!

Good Luck with your Sheepie Search.
Hi and welcome to the forum :D
Welcome to the forum from eastern PA! Ralph is just TOO cute.

We will shortly be looking for our next adoptee as well, having lost our Drez just a month ago. Good luck in your search!
Welcome from Minnesota! :D
I'm glad the pictures uploaded! It's a different process than the motorcycle forum I participate on. I'll have to scan some pics of our past fuzzies.

Our Chynna had blue eyes also! She was beautiful, just as yours is. She was my first attempt to foster....flunked that one! She lived her last 18 months with us where she was happy and safe.

Thanks for the welcome! I hope to be able to offer our experiences of OES ownership. It's a breed that we just can't seem to pull ourselves away from. Our search has just started for another fuzzy dog. I'm sure the right fuzz will come our way soon.
Welcome to the forum :)
Welcome, Kristi & Ralph, from the western half of our fair state. Hope you'll be able to join us in September for our TOES picnic. We'd sure enjoy having you & Ralph come & participate.
Welcome!
Ralph is a cutie-pie :D
I'm just outside of Wilmington. What area are you in?
I just got my first OES boy Noah, about a month ago. Thanks to the people on this group, they put me in contact with Becky in MO and she helped get Noah to me. He is so sweet and a big goofball.
Welcome from upstate NY....

We are in a little one-stop light town called Grifton. It's between Greenville and Kinston. Wilmington is about 2 1/2 hours south east of us.

Sheepies are great dogs. We have found them to be great family dogs and with their size people are still intimidated by them. While they are not great guard dogs, they are wonderful watch dogs. Ralph is a great door bell! Ours all have had the knack of sleeping where they can see the entrances and the hallway to where the family sleeps. Ralph will sometimes sleep upstairs if my husband is home, but if he's out, Ralph is on "duty".

We have enjoyed our Sheepies and can't wait to find our next fuzz dog. Even though we have two cats and three children at home, we think that Ralph really misses having another dog to hang out with. Guess we'll find out soon enough if we're right!
Welcome from the mountains of NC! I grew up in Goldsboro NC, near Kinston! I am waiting to rescue Suzi from Tarheel OES Rescue...I was told there is going to be 3 more in need soon appearing on website.

That's excellent news for Suzi. She's a cutie. Post pictures when you get her home. I talked to Belinda about Sassy, but my husband is really set on a younger (less than 2 years old) fuzzy dog. Ralph has been used to being alpha dog, so a male will have to be very young. I think he'll do fine with a young female. I watch Carolina, Tarheel and Southeastern Rescue every day...ok, several times a day!
Welcome to you and Ralph from
eastern NC as well!!
