Master Groomer

Does anyone know what it takes to be called a Master Groomer? :?

I am trying to find somone that can scissor cut Winston for the summer ( puppy cut) . I am new to the Minnesota area and have not found anyone that I trust with his coat - I have tried to cut it myself, but it was looking super choppy and I gave up. I ran across a lady online about two hours from me that said she is a member of the MN Professional Groomers Assoc and is a Master Groomer. Back to my question - -does anyone know what it takes to be called a Master Groomer? Can anyone think of some questions I should ask her to see if she can do the job?

Anyone have a groomer in MN/WI they would suggest? At this point I am willing to drive wherever.

There is more information on "National Certified Master Groomers" here-

If you scroll down to the bottom you'll find info on testing.

There may be other organizations too...
I am still awaiting a reply from my groomer if she can recommend anyone nearer to you for Winston!

I think I will call her tomorrow - not sure how often she checks her email. I hate to have you drive all the way down here. There MUST be someone closer. :D

Dawn - thank you for checking on this - I am just at a loss what to do. My husband has been on me non-stop to get Winston's hair cut shorter. He even suggested the other day that I was a bad sheepdog mom because I am more worried about Winston looking good rather than the heat. I would never put Winston in danger - but I have worked really hard on his coat and it makes me sick to think it could be messed up. I know hair grows back - -

I tell you between the ticks, humidity and being new in an area I have no clue about - it is taking everything I have not to want to move back to Montana. Sorry for being a whiner today - I will wait for your suggestion.
I called Kristin (groomer) on her cell phone and she was driving.
She said she would look up a name and number of someone in the Twin Cities area that is good and she would recommend. And, this person also knows lots of people and may know someone closer to you as well. So after she gets home she will get me the info. :D
Got the info!
I am sending you a PM. :D
