Detroit Metro Area Gatherings???

Are there any Detroit Metro Area gatherings going on during the month of June? I am in town visiting and didn't know if anything is going on. Are there any great dog parks or "don't miss" places that I should bring Rheba?

Where/when are you coming? We don't have any gatherings planned but I'd be glad to meet up with you and let Rheba romp around with my guys and maybe we can get a few other people, too. There is a cool dog park that I keep meaning to get to that has swimming. I don't know if the boys would be into it but it would be fun to try.

Sure, if it'll be a warm weekend and we have time to let him dry out for a couple days. Any swimming with Bear has to be expressly planned-- no spontaneous dips!
Before I go out there, do I need to worry about other vaccinations. I know that my sister's dog had to get a Lyme vaccine (or something like that) because he lives in MI. Rheba is up to date on her regular vaccines including bordatells. Do I need to worry?
No, we don't do the Lyme one here but I'm more in the "city" part of the suburbs and I've never even seen a tick. I would think as long as she's on a flea/tick preventative, she'd be fine for a trip.
If you'll be going up north I would advise the lyme, I get it for my dogs just to be on the safe side.
Angela, what area will you be visiting?
I will be in the Fraser area.

I think at this time of year, in that area, Rheba will be just fine as is!

Let us know the dates you're coming and availability and I'll see if we can out something together quickly with a few people. We may as well take advantage of visitors, right? :)
Fraser is about 10 minutes from me :) And you don't need to worry about the lyme vaccine since you won't be up north.
Is there some place that we can let the dog off the leash to play? Are all of you working tomorrow (Friday)?

Unfortunately I am working tomorrow. It looks like the weather's going to be stormy and rainy all weekend, too. There's a free dog park not too far from where you're at right in Mt Clemens. It's right across from the jail on Groesbeck. You may not be far from Clinton Township, either.

Here's a good list:

hmmm.....let me think. Yes, that park is pretty close.
