When I Grow Up

Or rather that should be when I refuse to grow up.
I'm going to wear tiaras
I'm going to be zany
I'm going to have a house full of animals
I'm going to love small children and old people
I'm going to be a Craigs List Queen
I'm going to keep laughing

I'm going to continue to love tiaras! This last one is compliments of Ginny (Taskers Mom). Thanks Ginny and Ron !!!

Eventually, I'll wear a red dress and purple hat and say a few cuss words, pop grapes in my mouth at the supermarket and look forward to being that crazy cat/dog/bunny person. :excited:

When I was a young girl, probably about 11, I saw a tiara at a local store. It was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. At night I could envision its sparkle (I'm still a sucker for sparkles!)

I told my mom about it. It cost $2.00. She told me that was a lot of money for something that "didn't have a purpose".

I kept thinking about it. About a week later, I came from school, and on my pillow was the tiara in all its glory, and behind me stood my mom with the biggest smile you have ever seen.

So, I too share your love of tiaras! Wish I still had it. There are days now, that I would really need to put it on and sparkle!
my daughter (25) tells me every woman needs to wear a tiara once in a while. 8) 8)
I knew a woman who wore a tiara around town.

In the 70's.

Seriously.
hey I grew up in the 70's - don't doubt it a bit :D :D
My daughter Lisa is a fellow tiara lover...... :D
I need to download her tiara picture
I'm a slob... sweatshirt and jeans for me

I believe that is an acceptable outfit to accessorize with a tiara
I think a tiara makes any outfit! Even (especially) nudity!
You were just as pretty then as you are now ...and looks like you've always had that upbeat glow about you! :D
Here is my tiara loving daughter Lisa!

Her college friends bought it for her to wear at her party! :D
When I get old I'm going to wear a purple dress, cowboy boots and a cowboy hat  and maybe a feather boa.............
When I was 7 I went to the theatre to see midsummer nights dream. My parents thought I might be too little to sit all the through but had taken me anyway.
Halfway though I asked when it was due to finish. My mum thought oh hell shes bored and asked why I said cause I never want it to end I love the dresses and tiaras.

I love big dresses and tiaras even and when I got married I had the biggest hoop under my dress so it was like the dresses in the theatre, and a tiara.

I would wear them everyday if I could I just love glitz and sparkles!

I will be like you Marianne and when I'm old I will be wearing my wedding dress and sparkles at the supermarket
LOL! That was fun and thanks everyone who commented!

I loved hearing the stories of Debcram and Vicki, thanks for that.

Thank you to Ms J who always says the nicest things but shows you what stage makeup does as without it my "laugh lines" show. Besides, those promo pics were taken 6 years ago.

Jean, I think my red multicolored boots and jeans would make a fashion statement. After all, a "princess" or "queen" can wear anything they want! Yes, Jeans and boots are definately appropriate for tiaras!

Kerry, Your daughter is a wise woman already at the age of 25.

Dawn, your daughter, Lisa, is gorgeous! The tiara suits her wonderfully!

Ginny, you're not old but didn't you already wear that outfit sometime?

Ron, Thank you and I'll be sure to share my throne should you and Joan ever visit. :D

It's kinda nice having a Peter Pan complex. Sorta the same thing as being a sheepie.

Marianne
sssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, you weren't supposed to tell!!
:sidestep: Oops!!! Did I say it outloud, Ginny? (I'm betting you had a tiara underneath that fuzzy hat while wearing your dog walking outfit!)

M
yes but I sent it to you!!!!!!!!!!! 8)
Great photos Marianne!

Me on the other hand was always too much of a tomboy to ever want to wear a tiara. My favorite thing to wear was a Yamaha t-shirt that my uncle gave me, because he showed me how to ride a dirt bike.
Lil bit of trivia. When I was growing up in a small village in France - population 200 - cobble stone streets and homes built in the 14th century. My dad use to point to ruins of castles and name some famous princesses that once lived there...Cinderella, Snow White..ect. Since I saw the castles..I believed him. LOL. However, I too was a die hard tomboy.

I don't remember what the holiday is exactly, but every year a family is served a cake with a hidden coin inside. Whoever finds the coin is crowned. The year that photo was taken (I was four) my brother found the coin. Photos were rarely taken in my younger years - guess due to the isolation of that small village, but, I clearly remember that day and just happened my parents also took photos. The first couple shots were of my brother proudly wearing the crown and me standing in front of him sobbing. Not a pretty sight. Next he gives me the crown and places his arms around me..hense that shot. I'm beaming! I've got the crown!
When I grow up I want to.......
be just like Marianne!

Aww Donners Mom - thanks for that! After searching the web (trying to find a photo of someone wearing a tiara and riding a motorcycle) I found there exist a Tiara Club for woman. Kinda like the red dress/purple hat club. I'm thinking we should all join!

Lisa: Just goes to show you there is something out there for everyone...gasp who could imagine a pink motorcycle helmet with a rhinstone encrusted front? I think it's perfect for you!!!

Kathy, I hope you bought it for yourself!!!! :plead:
lol...i keep a tiarra in my desk drawer...for those days that i reallly need it...i also wear it all day long on my birthday!!

heres a good story...the first time i went to hawaii with brian, we were walking down the main drag of waikiki...there was this jewelry store called king st jewelers.....there was this georgeous tiarra in the window.

he looked at me and said..''can you do it?'' i replied..''but of course..'' so we walk in to the store and he says in a very commanding voice...''my wife would like to try that tiarra on thats in the window.''

the sales lady goes scampering to the window, with, i swear, drool running out of her mouth....puts on a pair of white gloves, picks it up and sets it on my head.....it was sooo heavy...that kind of surprised me...

she asked me where id wear it to and i calmly replied "costco"...at that point she took it off as quickly as she put it on...

but i have to tell you, it does make your head spin wearing $30,000.00 worth of diamonds and rubies......sigh......it was WAY better than ANY shoe purchase....... :D
Oooooh I love the diamonte Bike Helmet :excited:

Wonder how it would go with my mud covered bike gear :lmt:

Very classy
