Merry Christmas
I work for a school board in Technology services. This year we took our entire Christmas budget, plus we each chipped in $5.00...then we choose one of our inner city schools and catered in a hot lunch. We served all the kids and staff. Then we got a discount toy store to meet us half way with gifts for all the students. A lot of people in our department opposed this. Why would we spend our Christmas party on others? We arrived at the school at 9:45 this morning to decorate and do general set up. Grumble, Grumble. We didn't let any of the staff at the school help us. After all the kids were fed they went out to play. We tore down all the tables, moved chairs, swept, set up chairs and hauled in boxes full of presents. Grumble, Grumble. All the students filed back in...Santa came...amid screams and cheers. Santa called them up by Grade...After Kindergarten he didn't even have to say a grade...They were up and ready to go. When all the students had their gifts they all opened them once. I have never seen such happy faces! Then one little girl walked up to Santa and hugged him. Then more kids got up and moved towards all of us. These little ones saying we love you, thanks for Christmas. Small arms reaching up for a hug. I tell you...there wasn't a dry eye among us when we left. Then one of the guys said "What school are we doing next year?" Merry Christmas everyone. I just had my Christmas today! |

| That is so wonderful! Kristen said it best the true meaning of Christmas is what you gave that school today. All of your staff should pat yourselves on the back for making everyone's day.

| Sounds wonderful!!you should be proud of making a positive differnce. At my nursing home i work at we have pulled together childern who are less fortunate,and some of our residents who just dont have families,we brought them together and we all pitched in food,gifts,and cheer,and this week end we are having a xmas party for all the childern and the residents are giving them toys/gifts that we all pitched in to buy. NAB it really is greta when you make a positive differnence,give you and your co-workers a huge hug!! Merry Christmas!! |
| That's awesome. I've been watching Oprah Winfrey making people's dreams come true and was thinking, she's a real life Santa Claus. How fortunate she is to be able to be able to bring such joy into people's lives. That's great that you were able to do the same! |
