Tonks and Luna's Summer cuts!

I was hesitant to do the summer shave down. I love thier little coats, and wanted to keep growing them out. But the weather here this week is in the mid-90's and our central air failed yesterday (stupid rental house) so I knew it was the right thing to do.

So here is the before and after shot:

I'm also pretty thrilled that I sat them on the proch, told them to "stay" and they did!!!!

...after chasing the cat under the house. *sigh*
OK Silly question...

They look GREAT... but are they wearing arm bands?

hehehe; Adam like to tell people that when the fighting got bad, he took electrical tape and bound them together til they could "work it out".

Truth is; thats where they were shaved to do blood work and give them fluids during thier Spays.

Very cute girls - I think they look more grown up! :D

I think my vet knows I would kill him if he shaved the leg hair! 8O

Mine wanted to shave some of Marley's when he needed to take blood. I think I screeeched

He managed to ge the blood without shaving, while looking very afraid of the crazy lady.

Really - even for a blood draw?
My vet has never shaved any of my dog's legs. Not even for Simon - and bassets are notoriously horrid to find veins in.
Learn something here every day!

That you are scarier than I am?

I think he was overwhelmed by trying to find a vein in all that white hair. he did apologize cause a little blood got on her fur. I might have done more than screech now that I think of it

You know the commercial when the guy does the long drawn out NOOOOOOOO! while he lunges across the room? It may have been closer to that
They are sooo cute and they even look cooler....

Actually - at this point I think I am jealous. After 2 days of brushing Chewie to a perfect no-mat condition, I am tired of hair!

I just bathed him, and now he is on the table again, with the dryer on him. I will take some pics as "befores", and then get some "afters" this weekend at the show. Maybe it will make me feel all this is worth it! Maybe.
They DO look more grown up. They are so adorable.
they really seem to be enjoying the cuts. I was tackled in the living room (I was sitting on the floor; I figure it makes me fair game) and they both tried to get in my lap and then lick my face all over. I'm gonna call that their "thanks Mom!"

Awwww!
When we shaved Tucker, we brought him home and he acted normally. Then he started running to fetch something and you could see him thinking "I'm just going to go get that - wheeeeeee!! I can feel the wind on my skin! Wheeeeeooooooo! Faster faster, run some more! I can feel it, Mom, I can really feel the air!" Oh gosh he was soooo cute!!!!!
oh I also wanted to say a big "thank you" to board member 3shaggies. She recommended the groomer to me. When I got there, they had her photo of Beebles and and Cassie proudly displayed!
I used photos of Tucker's hair cut to show my new groomer what I was wanting the girls to look like! So thanks for posting those!!!!
You're welcome!!! :D
They look adorable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They do look terrific-- and cooler!!

I think it is amazing how they can look like 2 totally different dogs with lots of hair and without... (wait... did someone say that same thing on another post??) Well, I agree if they did!!
Crikey!

They didn't have long coats to start with!

I take it that is warm there?

They do look very smart though, best you treat them and take them somewhere special to show off!

Its getting up to 95 in the middle of the day, and only down to the mid- 80's at night! So its been pretty uncomfortable for those of us without fur.

They look cute!

We're at 90 with almost 70% humidity today and for the rest of the weekend so looks like it's gonna be lot of inside time during the day and activity at night for us.

Sounds like our weekend too - the dogs will all choose a/c vents to lounge in front of and maybe we'll get some swimming in with the boys on Saturday (Marley is in full coat that won't work :) )

Unfortunately we have herding on Sunday - its been pushed back to 4 and in the mountains but I suspect it will still be uncomfortably warm.
WOW, I saved their pics because I think the groomer did an outstanding job!!! They look PERFECT!!! I love the thickness and shape everywhere on them!
the house we are renting was built in the early 1920's, and never insulated. So once the outside temp gets to 90 degrees +, the A/C doesn't help too much. So the shave down was very necesary for us!
ugh!!!! they're so cute i'm tempted to shave peeps....i'll see when it gets hot. if i have to, i'll bring these pics to the groomer.
The girls look so pretty with their new cuts.

I love being able to see sheepie faces they look cute.
hmm in the UK we long for warm weather! but on second thoughts maybe we have it nice, currently it is about 60 F outside (almost midnight) it was warmer during the day, Archie is lying out under the stars chewing a dishcloth.

I can see why keeping their coats down could be so important in your warmer stickier climate
They look great!!!
They looks fabulous! What beautiful eyes they both have!!
Pepsi has been begging to be shaved down. We have already had temps of 113. 8O Luckily it was only 99 today. 8)
He just cools off in the pool. He knows a haircut can't be too far off.
Tonks and Luna look happy, happy, happy. Glad to hear your behavior issues are getting better. too
They look fantastic.
Tonks and Luna are absolutely ADORABLE! I love their cuts! They are precious!!!!
