Let's Welcome Guests...

Just recently a guest announced that they were getting a puppy. The guest was obviously excited. He/she mentioned that the arrival would be in a few weeks.

So far, no problem. He/she would probably spend some time reading new/old postings in the anticipated wait -maybe even learn a thing or two.

Now the problem. The guest mentioned a few things that were red flags and it instantly got heated. The end result, the guest, more than likely, will never learn from our site because they will never return. Who lost the most here? The puppy.

We had almost 1 yr (8 wks to come home + 8 mths before first heat approx) to persuade him/her. Could we have changed their mind about some basic issues? We'll never know.

Please remember that the best way to win an argument is for the opposing viewer to come up with the new alternate decision on their own terms. Few arguments, if any, are won without both sides considering the opposing views and opinions. And, why does there have to be a winner?

Education and Advice is this sites' strongest attribute. Gentle persuasion will get us much farther.

It is important not to just remember Ron's mantra but also remember that not everyone has, or will have, our own views. But please, let's welcome all in an effort to help the lives of our sheepies.
