Hercy has high liver count

My sister's airedale terrior is 2 years old. A little small for his breed, only 45 pounds, but has been healthy. Seven weeks ago my sister and BIL were doing some construction on their house, and seeing as Hercy eats EVERYTHING, they decided to do a CBC and his liver count came back at 135. Normal is 118, so it wasn't so high that the vet was worried, but they retested last week and it came back at 160. So, yesterday they went in for a fasting test to hopefully get more answers. This morning he threw up blood, and his appetite has dramatically decreased.

I was hoping someone would have some advice, questions to ask the vet, or general comments. I have no experience in this area, and she is too worried to know what to think. She has another vet appointment today at 1:30, and I am going with her. Thanks!

I hope Hercy is alright!
Do they have any idea what he might have eaten or gotten into?
He was such fun to meet at Sheepiepalooza last year, a real sweetie.
Hopefully he has strength like the original Hercules and can fight this off.

:hearts:
Does he have any signs of jaundice? Did they do a bilirubin count, if so how high was the number?
Could he have an obstruction??
The liver count is not really that
high out of normal ranges.
If I can answer any specific questions on
liver issues please ask.
I have been through it for years! :(
Best of luck to Hercy :hearts:
Any update on Herc? When we met him last year at Sheepiepalooza - he was so adorable.
Thanks so much for asking about Hercy!

I went with my sister to the vet on Friday. He had been in earlier for the test where he fasts for 12 hours, they do a test, he eats, then they do another test (can't remember what it is called). His results were normal, so his liver is functioning normal.

The vet has come to the conclusion that he has an inflammed small intestine from eating grass. Don't ask me how she made that conclusion. I told my sister to change vets, I was NOT impressed with this one. Being my usual self I brought in a list of possible problems and questions. Knowing Hercy had X-rays taken 2 months ago, I asked specifically about cancer, an obstruction, and enlarged gallbladder. First off, she hadn't exmined the X-rays for enlarged gallbladder or cancer, secondly, she said Hercy was too young for cancer, and an enlarged gallbladder was rare.

He is on some medicine for 2 weeks and not allowed outside without supervision, then back for another test. Poor guy hates that vet office, he sat in my lap the entire visit  .
Well, I guess he is on the mend, then!
The vet sounds not too with it - maybe just caught her on a bad day? Anyway, I hope he is back to his usual terrier self and is OK. :D
