Puppy countdown

The countdown began for me quite some time ago, so I thought I'd include you all in the wait

Panda is pregnant and due June 15th. We had an ultrasound done at 5 weeks and at least 6 big healthy babies could be seen, but her bladder was very full so we suspect there may be more hiding behind it.
She's HUGE.
She has done very well, is eating a ton and sleeping a lot more.
She is so maternal toward Stewie that I'm sure she is going to make a great mom.

We're so excited, I can't wait to meet the babies :)

Here is a pic of Panda at 3 and a half weeks along, and freshly shaved

Image

And here is a pic from a few days ago, at 41 days (just shy of 6 weeks)

Image

I'm going to take more pics on Monday, the 7 week mark.
Respond to this topic here on forum.oes.org
AWEEEEEEE!!! I am so excited for you. Did you say you're keeping a male ............or two or three ;)

BTW, no fair I can't have one (yet).

Can't wait for pics!
:yay: Great news and yes she sure does look like she has a belly full of beans in the oven. :D

Congratulations to you all, now we need the guess how many panda bubs are in the oven game and of course what day she whelps.
oh yey oh yey!!!!!! im sure she will make a fantastic mother!!!! sigh..youre one lucky dog!!
congratulations and hope all goes well for Panda :D
sigh.........too far to come play with the puppies......sounds to be a bunch hiding in there.
Who is the daddy? I know Panda and Nigel have the same mom (Willow). I was just curious who you bred Panda to. She looks great!!! Is this her first litter.
wendy58 wrote:

though I know you asked b/c you were actually curious ...I couldn't help but think of an episode of Montel Williams when you said that. Who's the daddy of all those (fur)kids? <then a fight breaks out b/c Panda is guilty of being with a spoken for daddy>
LOL!!!!
LOL J

As for the daddy.... Panda got to spend some time with the latin lover, Chicus. This is her first litter.

I forgot Nigel was a Willow baby...
Panday looks so beautiful....puppies how lucky you are....we need to start a count down.
OH...Nigel's Daddy!!! He has pretty puppies...you should have a nice litter!!
  PUPPIES!!!
My guess for the due date is June 16th...eight puppies....five males and three females! Good luck Panda and Stacey!
Nigel will have more half bro's & sisters...and he get's to be an Uncle too...starting to sound like hillbillies now. 8O
If Panda is anything like her mom...she could have 10!
Any board members going to be owners?

I don't think so, but I refer everyone to the forum anyway so hopefully they will be :)
She's beautiful. I am going to be incognito (far, far away from internet access--at least I think there won't be any internet), perhaps in a van during Panda's special delivery, but I will be checking back when I return home.

Hope everything goes well with the beautiful mother.
Joahaeyo wrote:

Yeah....me
If there is a female we like for showing we will keep one, we already have her name picked out....but you all will have to wait for her to be born
Congrats on the new upcoming babies. :D :D :D

Panda does look quite round - just like my sheep do before they lamb!
Hooray! How exciting! Gentle sheepie cuddles to Panda :ghug:
More puppies

can't wait

I love Pandas big tummy!!
:clappurple:  :yay: :excited: :high5: :cheer:
WOOHOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Puppies, can't wait!
Congrats! What an exciting time!!
Congratulations! :clappurple: It's all so very exciting! :excited:
Panda has been practicing being a mom with Stewie.....she is going to make a wonderful mom.....poor girl cant understand being preggo tho...she often comes up to me with a pitiful face and I ask...whats wrong? and she promptly burps....I made the mistake of saying thank you panda.....now she thinks she ALWAYS has to come to me to burp
Yeah for puppies! Poor pregnant Panda, I can commiserate with you!
YAY puppies. Hope mom is doing great. Cant wait to see them/:hearts:
Just a quick update....
Panda is now almost 8 weeks, I took a few new pics on Monday when she was at 7 weeks but hadn't noticed a whole lot of difference.

Here is one:
Image

She is 8 weeks on Monday so I'll take new ones again. It's funny, when you look at her from above, she looks a LOT wider, but seeing her from the side she doesn't look that big.

The pups are moving around, you can feel the little rolls and kicks but can't see them yet.
awww panda baby, youre sticking out the sides!!!! kisses to you, oh uncomfortable one....
She is bulging out. I hope she's comfortable!
Please give the Little Momma a kiss from me.
8 weeks today :)
She is starting to get her milk in, and is definitely bigger out the sides than she was.

Image

I'm taking her temp twice a day starting today, this morning it was at 99.8
Her normal temp is a little lower than most dogs, about 100.4, so 99.8 is not much of a drop yet and it's normal to fluctuate a few days before delivery.

Her whelping box has been set up all along, but this morning she seemed very interested in the dark places under some bushes in the yard so I'm going to drape a blanket over the whelping box and make it more dark and cozy for her.
Woohoo - sounds like she is getting close! :D

She is big - poor thing, 2 at a time stretched me out bad enough! 8O
AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW :hearts:
So do we want to start taking guesses as to date, time, number of pups, boys, girls etc?

She is due Sunday, but my guess is Friday June 13th, beginning at 11pm or so and finishing up sometime Saturday morning. I'm going to guess 6 puppies, 2 boys, 4 girls (or maybe this is just wishful thinking since that is what is spoken for LOL)
7 puppies, 4 boys, 3 girls
Born Thursday, June 12th.

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D
8 puppies
6 boys and 2 girls

Born Wednesday 11th June.

Hope all goes well for her,
8 puppies 5 boys and 3 girls born 13th june :D
June 14 9 puppies...5 girls 4 boys 8O
She looks huge! How much weight do they usually gain during a pregnancy?

I'll pick June 16 for the due date. 5 girls, 2 boys.
June 13th 8 puppies 4 boys 4 girls :D
June 14th, 7 pups! Poor thing probably can't wait!!!!!!!!!
Awww poor thing looks ready. I say 9 4 boys 5 girls june 14th
I say 10 puppies...not guessing on the boy, girl count.
ButtersStotch wrote:

Every dog is different and every pregnancy is different. A lot of course depends on how many pups are in there and how much they each weigh :)
I say 8 puppies.....5 boys 3 girls.....she will start labour while I am at work thursday night....just because I took the weekend off! LOL but the pups will be born at some ungodly hour June 13th!
My tip is June 14th and Panda will start whelping at 2.00 in the Morning

Brie did, nice wake up call at 1.00 in the morning. :P

9 Puppies 5 girls, 4 boys

That'd be one puppy PANDA will never forget! (Does that mean the dad just released one giant _____? LOL)
Honestly with the amount of gas this dog lets go I'm looking forward to her having these pups for more reasons than you'd think.
She can clear a house, not just a room. :twitch:

Poor Baby. She's probably really ready too.

My guess- 6 boys 2 girls, all big and beautiful, born in the middle of the night, on Fri the 13th -which will from then on be a lucky Fri the 13th.
WizardMerlin wrote:

Hey that is what dogs were put on earth for, for humans to blame in the gas department, thank goodness for a dog when human company is around, PHEW what is that smell? must of been the dog 8)
Panda is looking considerably bigger tonight. The pups appear to be moving down, though her temp is still normal.

Image
Oh, she's beautiful! Reminds me of my litters. Boy, I would love to have another momma, poppa and babies!

She looks like she's ready. Thursday 1 a.m. 9 = 6 boys and 3 girls.
Good luck!!!
Ahhh sweet Panda. Please give her a gentle hug for me and tell her it will be over soon. :D
She's getting really big. We're sending gentle kisses to Panda.
Her temp is still relatively normal, dropped a bit but not enough to think much of it just yet. (99.7) Today is day 60
She doesn't seem to have any interest in the whelping box still, but I got a pic of her in it last night.

Image
She doesn't look too thrilled to be in there - more like OK, I'll let you get the picture!

She is growing, and looks great!! :D
hesitant motherhood??? lol....''how am i going to care for all of these puppies??''

give her a kiss from me...
Her temp is now 98.8, dropped from 100.4
I feel like an anxious grandma. Please keep us posted.
I can't wait to see those little gerbils!!
I say 9 puppies in the early hours of the 14th June,.

5 girls and 4 boys!!!
She may not look too happy but I like that picture of her in the whelping box.

Has anyone guessed 7 puppies on the 16th? I say 5 boys and two girls.
She's not even due til Sunday, but now is when the wait becomes agonizing. I just can't wait to see them :)

I haven't seen any signs of anything yet today.... a watched pot never boils??
If I were she, I'd be dropping my temp just to get you to stop sticking that thermometer thingy in me. :D
Ron wrote:

hahahahaha........
I'm surprised their temp goes DOWN instead of up. I'd think it would rise with something so big going on with the body.
The temp goes down as prostaglandins are released and progesterone drops to basically allow labor to start.
Fascinating process really.
It ALL makes sense now. :P

Kim we both made the same preditiction. :D What do they say about intelligent minds. lol Hang in there Panda just one more day to go until Saturday......
I want to change mine to her due date and not the day before like I first guessed. I wanted to say it the first time around but held in...
I say the 13th. Don't have any idea on how many, but I'll guess 7.
Good luck!!!! I'm so excited to see what the babies will be like!
Best wishes to Panda and all the little babies. :D
I keep checking for a puppy update...
hope mama is doing good and staying well. I keep looking for new puppy news.
Nothing yet, though she is doing a bit of nesting... looking under places she can't possibly fit
My guess, June 14th and 7 pups, 5 boys, 2 girls.

Dunno if anyone else guessed those exact numbers yet as I may have missed it while reading that loooong post. So happy for you and can't wait for any updates!

Willowsprite wrote:

I laughed out loud when I read that!

We woke up in the middle of the night once to digging sounds and caught our girl crawling under our bed. We couldn't believe she fit under there. She was huge! We lifted one side of the bed to give her more room to crawl back to the corner.

Her whelping box was in another corner of our bedroom, but I guess she decided that wasn't close enough to mom! She had the 1st of 10 puppies as soon as she made it to the corner! They're full of surprises!

Can't wait to hear all about your puppies, and SEE pictures!!!

Pam (mouthypf)
My guess was in the middle of the night tonight with 6 boys and 2 girls. I will be away for Father's Day. I will be thinking of Panda. I hope she is a glowing momma when I return.
Nothing yet. Her temp this morning is 99.6 so it went back up a bit.
She has a lot of discharge today though.

Update needed. You know in the hospital we get vitals every shift.

Love you Panda. Good luck girl.
Nothing yet....

She's still eating like a pig too so I don't think it will be tonight.
We went out for dinner, I figured we were watching her too much lol.
When we came home, we fed the crew and she is still eating so most likely not tonight...sigh....we are so anxious for things to get going....
we can tell she is having contractions...she comes for a petting when they happen. Panda is way more clingy than usual too...which i was told is all part of it....I have no clue. This will be my FIRST puppy birth. I am so excited.:excited:

Hopefully some time tomorrow. :D

Good Luck Stacey, I hope all goes well and you have a pen full of healthy pups SOON!
Still nothing....altho she isnt eating and she looks absolutely HUGE today....this waiting is hard! LOL
WizardMerlin, have you thought of keeping another one? I mean what's one more to that house?
Yeah for puppies :) Thinking about those little squirmy bundles made me think about their tails - i know they dock pretty early, like in the first 3 days right? Do you have a vet dock them? Is it done surgically or with a tournaquet?

Just curious :) congrats on the upcoming arrival!
Temp is still down, it's currently 98.2. No other signs so far though.

Zooba, the pups tails are done usually at 2 or 3 days of age. Some breeders have them surgically docked, some use a method called banding.
I use banding at 2 days of age.
Going off the food does not necessarily mean they are about to whelp. Brie kept eating like an oinker till she started whelping, who said going off food means they are close to popping?

I found her temperature went down for about 4 days and it was not till her temp surged again that she started the birthing process.

Come on Panda get on with it, we are awaiting the news on your babies and OF COURSE photos of the darlings to be. Oooooh puppies
I've never had one that ate right up until whelping, but Panda could be a first. LOL She ate a lot last night, and has eaten a bit this morning.
Her temp is basically back to normal this morning, or close to it, at 99.6
Yesterday was such a low temp I thought for sure it would be last night, but nope.

She looks massive this morning, I'm going to get some pics later. Puppies are definitely moving down, she looks like she swallowed a watermelon.
Here are a few pics... The first two pics are from 2 days ago, on day 61. The last pic is today, day 63

hehehehehehe, I always felt "overdue" a month before my due sate

Good luck Panda!!! I hope you have LOTS of healthy babies.
^^^

SOOOOOOOOOO TRUE

Anyway, poor Panda. Having to give birth to that many puppies. Are there any mommies that are barkers when they have puppies or do they all practice silent births like scientologists? The dogs I've seen have all been basically quiet, but I wondered if there were some howlers.
I guess i am a little late to be guessing the birth date but for what its worth i think tomorrow lunchtime and there will be 7 puppies, 4 boys and 3 girls. Whatever and whenever i hope they are all healthy and look forward to pics! Good Luck Panda!! x
Still nothing...

I wish she'd give me some sign that she's going to get this show on the road LOL
Figures, just when I think nothing is happening, her temp is now 98, the lowest it's ever been and she just started panting a bit.
this was my guess

If thats how it works, I'll do a better job calculating the date next time.

Well, its about 12:30 a.m.... Are you sitting on the floor yet??? We're starting to get impatient around here, so I can only imagine how excited you're getting!!! Nothing better than puppy breath, except multiple puppies breath!!!!!!!!

Come on Panda! This is how its done:

Pant, Pant, Pant - Grunt, Grunt, Grunt - Pushhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Repeat as necessary!!!
Take photo's and call us in the morning!
Then, you can REST!
Has she been trained in the LaBarkze method?
It's still Sunday here, so I've got 3 hrs for her to push it out in time. Hopefully Willowsprite isn't having too hard of a time staying up to wait/watch. Poor thing. :)
Well, it's MONDAY now, where are the puppies???????
Sorry guys, she panted for a bit and then nothing. I stayed up til 2am and then decided to try and get some sleep. I set my alarm to check on her every 2 hours but she was just snoozin'.

So who is left for guesses? I think most of them are past now, so only a few left who guessed Monday or Tuesday right?

We have severe thunderstorm warnings today, but it's sunny out so who knows.
We've had t storms on and off all weekend though, doesn't seem to make a difference with Panda.
At least the storms give me something to watch while I wait LOL

Downside though is that most of the peonies got blown over last night. I'm going to get new stakes and string them back up.
OK, I'm back from our weekend at the lake and no puppies :? Well, Panda, great things occur in their own time. We love you girl.
Still nothing.....sigh...getting up every 2 hours for the past 2 nights is tiring lol.... We were taking turns checking on panda, the first night she would get up when we came in to check on her....last night she'd look at me like whats wrong with you?
Stacey walked her up and down the driveway this morning to see if that would get things moving but still nothing. Oh and we have totally spoiled this dog....we can no longer eat anything without sharing with her. Not only do we get the look but she will whine and 'dance' too....until one of us shares....yeah...the dogs rule here
I am thinking Panda wants me to take tomorrow night off work  I took off the last few days thinking one would be the birth day...but no such luck.
Right now we are having a thunderstorm, it doesnt faze Panda at all....its been storming on and off all weekend. We have had some severe weather watches all weekend....but still nothing with Panda.
I'm still in. Judi and I picked opposites. :)

The most I've ever heard is grunting. Maybe it's a throwback to their wild ancestors where alerting the entire area that lunch was being born was probably not such a great thing. The noisiest birth I ever heard was being awakened by my girls' breeder screaming at the top of her lungs (her survival time in the wild would have been very short indeed  ) when Belle's sister had her first litter. Coco was pacing around the house in the middle of the night with breeder in tow when one presumes she must have thought she was having an emergency bowel movement and then the "movement" starting wiggling and making noise.

She took off like the proverbial bat out of ^%&* and the breeder screamed for me for to grab a towel and the puppy while she chased the surprised mom through the house  She did return and Mad and her sisters were born more traditionally, in the whelping box.

Coco herself was born almost 24 hours after her four sisters. A friend whelped the litter, presumed Mattie was done after four girls, the next day while her husband was outside pottying her after dark he thought something plopped out as she was walking and he'd better check: Coco. Maybe her own unceremonious entry into the world is why her first puppy caught her so off guard

How long will they let Panda go over before they do a c-section?

Kristine
PAM, THAT WAS GREAT :clappurple:
Pay attention Panda!
Tuesday is a nice day to have puppies........
mouthy, that was perfect!!

Mad Dog, thanks for answering :)

...now where are those puppies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
puppy with a pierced ear at birth.......hmmm. Will that take a stud or a ring?

Hope stork arrives soon or else the vet will have to split that watermelon.
Pam that was great....

Still nothing.... it's only day 65

I'm impatient, but I'm not concerned at this point, she's doing great, and I don't think it's time to panic.

The placentas start to degrade after a certain length of time which is obviously dangerous for the pups but they are still kicking like crazy.

I'm just keeping a close eye on her and counting on gut instinct. If I don't see any signs of anything by maybe Thursday then I'd probably take her in.
That was very funny Pam
Kristine, I laughed at the visual of the whelping you described lol, this being my first I doubt I will be screaming....

So now I have a dilemma.....should I get someone to cover my shift at work tonight or just go in. I dont want to miss a minute of the pups being born. We will keep all of you guys posted on Panda's progress.....or lack there of as the case has been
WizardMerlin wrote:

Go in. That will probably jump-start her labor. Ornery bitches!

Belle went into labor early: as soon as she knew her breeder was securely stuck at a benched show three hours away

Kristine
Pam, Great poem!

Can't wait for babies! Can't wait to see the pictures!
Panda, we are very anxious for puppies on the forum.

Isn't it about time for you to paint the whelping box or take a trip to the pet store?

I heard mothers-to-be start decorating or go to the mall when they want something to happen. Just a suggestion from an impatient member.
SheepieMommy wrote:

Canine mommies to be love to redecorate too. They love to rearrange couch cushions, dump clean baskets of laundry on the floor, and scrunch them into a more aesthetically pleasing crumpled pile. They love to rip up carpet or occasionally linoleum, or perhaps try to dig to china through your hardwood floors.

Panda hasn't been doing a whole lot of nesting actually, she tried to dig all the cushions off the couch a couple days ago, and once in a while piles up flannel blankets on the floor in front of the couch but at this point has no interest in the whelping box.

Well whatever you and Stacey are doing just isn't working. I WANT PUPPIES!!!! Sorry I am just anxious.

I have always been kind of partial to Panda because she and Harry are about the same age and so they kind of grew up in the forum together. Well, theoretically, since Harry still hasn't grown up. But it is kind of exciting to see Panda become a mom.
DandAbi wrote:

They don't. It's just our hope that they will find it an inviting, cozy safe place to have their pups.

Sky loved the box, from the day I built one for her she was in and out of it, digging it up and laying contentedly on the mess and I knew she would have the pups in there with no encouragement from me.

Panda on the other hand I think would prefer the new couch, preferably with a cushion or two torn up.

We won't let that happen though, but I have put blankets on the floor in front of it too and that's where she seems happiest. If she decides to have them there I'll let her and just move them after the first one or two are born to the box. Hopefully she'll decide to stay in it at that point.
Well I am going to work tonight Judi....so that surely will get things going....I had taken the last 4 days off....guess it was my fault she hasnt had her pups yet....but if I am not here there is no one to help her when she needs to burp....honestly she thinks she has to come to me everytime she needs to burp...its hilarious

This is the place to be to learn.

I could easily picture Abi wanting to be on my bed!

Still nothing....I'm impatient, but.............
I'm just keeping a close eye on her and counting on gut instinct....

Thanks all, glad you enjoyed one of my (I probably should of kept that silliness to myself) moments. Puppies do that to me! So it's all their fault!!!

Trust your "gut" instinct!!! Even if you call your vet and they tell you to 'just watch her' for a few more hours or whatever!!!

My gut instinct told me something didn't seem quite right with one of my girls and I followed the vets advice. By the time I called back (at the appointed time), to report nothing had changed, and "then" got her to his office, she lost her first puppy from the stress it had been under!!!

Maybe getting her there sooner wouldn't have changed anything, but I've always felt that 'my gut feeling' was right, and I should've acted when I called him the first time?!?!?! :x But, I'm not a vet, so......

A C-section is a lot of hard work! My Laci had 11 puppies that day. I wanted to watch the procedure, but since the sedation puts mom and the pups to sleep I was too busy stimulating puppies to wake them up that I wasn't able to watch anything!

The vet would hand one to his assistant, she'd quickly look it over and hand it to me or my husband. We'd vigorously rub them to stimulate their cries. We'd get the newly delivered pup to cry, but the others were already trying to go back to sleep, so we'd be working on two or three at a time!

It was an experience I'll never forget. Once I knew my Laci and her pups were going to be okay I was able to relax and realized I was actually having "fun"!!!! There's nothing more exciting than the gift of "life!"

OK Panda! Get with it! We want pictures and you're not co-operating!!!
But, as long as you and your babies are happy and healthy, thats all that counts!!!

Brie wanted hers under the Breakfast bench in the Kitchen, I suppose to be close to FOOD. Yeah she ate like an oinker till she popped.
I could not imagine trying to crawl under the bench to deliver pups, I ended up with a baby gate on the door and a bed in front of the whelping box and sleeping her in their. She had her first pup on the bed and not in the whelping box. Then she had no choice OK you get in the box and get on with the rest of this

My friend her bitch raced for the couch and decided to pop her first one on that before we could get her into the box, she also dug a hole to china outside a few days before whelping I think she was making her own nest there so she was supervised the whole time outside so she did not whelp there.

There funny, neurotic and can be choosey when it comes to where they want to give birth. 8)

COME ON PANDA GIRL, go girl go and get on with it, we are waiting to hear and see the bubbas :D
Anyone else feel like it's been awful quiet in the Panda department...?

:lmt:

Kristine
Just thinking those puppies are sure being stubborn about coming out!

If Willowsprite was like she was last time... she would post as they were coming. At least that's what she promised last night in chat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *fingers crossed*
I was thinking the same thing!
I keep checking too!

Lally
Sounds like Willowsprite is getting her pre-baby naps and sleeping in  .
Still nothing.... I went back to sleep for a bit this morning after checking on her through the night...

I REALLY hope we see at least some sign that she will have them soon today!
Still checking in :D
Well, I see the puppies haven't signed in yet! So, neither will I! After all, I made a "special" trip here just to "see" you.

Willow, maybe it'd help speed things up if you give Panda and the pups "User Names" and "Passwords"!

For Panda, I suggest: I'm Patient or I'm Stubborn

For the pups: Push, Shove, Move it, Get outta my way, etc......

Panda, are we pressuring you too much? No problem! You take your time Sweetie, ..... I'll just get the pictures of my own puppies out, and look at them again, and again, and again..........

Pam (mouthypf)
I'm so excited, I'm about to burst! Tell that girl to hurry up!
a FULL moon...tonight....

Panda....is waiting....to see that full moon~~~~~~

TONIGHT IS THE NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

one for each sheepiebaby!!!!!!!!
I thought the full moon was last night, but you're right, it's tonight.

She's not doing a thing yet
Panda may be doing nothing at the moment except percolating those pups.....however Stacey`s allergies are starting to act up which is a sign things might start relatively soon (we hope LOL...we are SOOO impatient!)
Come on Panda!!!!
Just checking for puppies. Geez beginning to believe Ron's prediction 8O

Technically Ron's guess is the only one that hasn't passed yet
Still no Action GEEZ c'mon Panda :|
I can't stand the wating and I'm not even there :D . Kim if you run out of things to clean come on over :)
Maybe Panda is waiting for the rain to stop....hoping for a sunny day tomorrow!
Oh poor Panda she must be fed by now!!
STILL nothing.... LOL

I'm thinking now she must not have taken from the first breeding.

If she took from the first breeding she is 4 days over, if she took from the second she is 2 days over and if she took from the third she is due today.
LOL, poor Panda
Tell her, its time to

POP 'EM PUPPIES!!!!

:excited:

Haha we've been telling her that for days..... she's a stubborn one
The puppy prowlers are waiting. LOL I have this absurd desire to get a female OES and breed her!

Lally
Maybe she took from all three and will have puppies for a week!
WHAT! STILL NO PUPPIES!!! :(
Maybe she's been waiting for me to post my guess 8)

They'll be born tomorrow and the next day.
11... 7 girls and 4 boys. :sidestep:
I think she likes all the attention...

Live it up girly!
I think these puppies are taking a hint from my good friend here in town ~ She is now 4 days past her due date!

Maybe, she's not really pregnant...just fluffy!
She's waiting for a little peace and quiet instead of all the attention. No, that really doesn't sound like her either. Maybe she just needs a good chew bone to relax and let nature begin the show.

If Panda were any more relaxed she would be in a coma...she is the most relaxed sheepdog I have ever met. Nothing fazes her.
And for all who want an update...NOTHING YET...
Darn Panda are ya waiting for Christmas. Us natives are getting restless. LOL
If I were Panda... I'd be barking back at you guys that it's not her taking so long... it's the PUPPIES being stubborn! She's got to be miserable!
LOL you're probably right! Actually, maybe she's just decided she should have a puppy shower before she delivers . . .
what about now? Any puppies yet?
I am hoping we will hear something soon since neither Stacey or Kim have been on the forum since 6:00 last night.
Still nothing....
UGH! Well tomorrow is Tony and my 5th anniversary. Maybe they will be born then!
Are you sure she didn't have them already ---

hiding them somewhere just to drive both of you CRAZY :excited:
Are you SURE she is having puppies? Maybe she just had a little bit too much kibble to eat!
Just checking in
For heaven's sake, at this rate the puppies will be blowing their puppy coat when they come out. :?

They should be very big and healthy
Panda is going to be asking for a boobie lift and even a tummy tuck after giving birth to these pups!

This is the longest puppy countdown ever...Panda, they can't stay in there, you will explode!!! 8O
waiting waiting waiting

Sigh
Panda is the laziest dog ever....we are so wiped from being up for a week waiting for these pups to arrive...I think she is reluctant to have them because she is getting SO much attention right now she doesnt want to screw up a good thing

do ya blame her???
I think she's waiting to get married before her babies are born!
How is her temperature....has it dropped yet? Anything under 100 will be a good sign. Any signs of weak contractions? Nipples oozing? Come on Panda girl, we want this to be a normal delivery.......so let's get going.

She's been leaking a bit of milk for a few days, and her temp has dropped every day for the last week, to between 98 and 99. Yesterday it dropped to 97.6, but goes back up to 99 or so in the evenings. That's all normal for the temp to fluctuate, and her baseline temp is a little lower than most dogs. Normal for most dogs is between 101-102.5, Panda's normal is 100.4
No contractions though, still eating and drinking and peeing and pooping normally.

She's just not going by the book LOL but then most don't.

I am getting kind of tired of checking in so often for the update. Stacey or Kim if either one of you could give me a call to let me know it's happening I would really appreciate it.
Put me on that list to call too. I'm starting to go gray and my bday isn't until a few more days!

Or maybe that's it... she's waiting to deliver on my bday. 8)
What?? NO PUPPIES YET?
Just an update....still NOTHING
A watched pot never boils, and apparently a watched Panda never pops!
This has to be a record for longest thread too!! Panda is definitely wanting lots of attn. :D
Joahaeyo wrote:

I was thinking I should lock this thread and start another... but I really didn't expect it to go on so long!

Sigh....
i SAY Saturday night/Sunday morning...............and 10 puppies......
I think it's appropriate ...longest thread ...to go with the longest doggy pregnancy.

It's normal for dogs to be this late right?????

Well if we go by the last breeding she's not really late...
It's too long for me. I'm locking it. I was ready for puppies 7 pages ago!
