Barney1 Baby?

Maybe I miss it...did Steph have her baby? How is everyone??
Respond to this topic here on forum.oes.org
I'm waiting to hear too :lmt:

Steph is missing from the forum at the moment so I wonder now if her lil princess has made an appearance
Nope, I'm here!!
No baby yet! I was missing because of the 3-day weekend and I don't get on the computer much at home since I'm on it all day at work!

The still-nameless baby girl will be here a week from today (June 3) unless she makes earlier plans! She'll be delivered by c-section. So y'all have another week of me to deal with before I pop.

I 'nested' this weekend, though. I finished the nursery and cleaned the house like mad and it's still not clean enough, but there's only so much I can do right now!
Decided this thread needed more attn, so I'm bringing it ttt.

I'm so excited for you and ALSO wondered if you would have it over the weekend. Didn't notice a lack of posts since I wasn't on much either ...just that your time is soooooooooooo close. I feel like I can hear some "dun.. dunnn dunnnnn" music! I know things will go great and you'll have a beautiful girl. This week, your mom's puppy as your avatar ...next week BABY!!!!!!!

Hope you don't get TOOOOOO uncomfortable before the baby makes an appearance.
I was wondering too, Steph. I didn't see the preggo lady at the gym today either and that made me wonder how you're feeling. It's so close!! I'm sure you're happy to have the nursery all ready to go. Just missing one little thing... :P
Not too much longer...how exciting! Nesting is a good thing, means baby is not far behind.
Thanks for wondering about me! 8)

I'm actually overall pretty fine, comfort-wise. Just a little achy and painy, but nothing I can't deal with. My biggest complaint I guess is the lack of sleep--and it doesn't make me feel any better when people say, oh it's just preparing you for when the baby's here...And it isn't even the lack of sleep--it's not being able to be comfortable in bed and always having to flip and flipping is an event in itself.

Baby could come at any time, but she better not--I don't have my bags packed! At least my doctor is back from vacation, though, lol.
[chanting] push it out, shove it out, waaaaaaaay out! [/chanting]
I am so excited for you Steph.

The last part of pregnancy does suck big time. I don't think I slept good for the last 3 months. The final month I spent most of my nights peeing like every 5 minutes.

I didn't think you had delivered yet since I'm sure we'll be the first to know :)

That doesn't seem like good c-section advice... 8O
WhaddoIknow? I'm just a guy with a website.
Are you still at work? How can you stand it knowing that you are having the baby in less than a week. I'm going on vacation next Tuesday and it's driving me crazy to be at work. I can't imagine it knowing when you will be having the baby.

p.s. If I never sleep on my left side again after this pregnancy I will be one happy camper!

Yep, I'm still at work. Might as well. The most strenuous thing I do is type on a keyboard. Otherwise I'd just be sitting around at home doing nothing...at least I get paid!

Yeah, my mind is basically worthless at this point. Good thing there's not much to do at work at the moment.

I'd much rather know when it's going to happen than not, so I'm fine knowing Tuesday is D day (or bday!).

Although I DID have some contractions last night...

Oh my! She might not wait until Tuesday. She may decide to make an early appearance. You know how girls are - they like surprises. :P

True, but if she's anything like her mother, arriving early is just not done! I am late to everything!
Oh, believe me! You won't WANT her to be late for this!! I was 2 weeks late with Spencer and I was ready to cut MYSELF open to get him out!! And my Sarah was the polar opposite - she was 3-1/2 weeks EARLY! Traits they both have to this day. Spencer's more laid back and easy going, and Sarah's more go-go-go all the time.

Enjoy the time you have left! Your lives will never be the same!
I did my OB rotation last week, saw lots of preggers and even got to deliver a couple,,,,,,want ME to come do the delivery

okay! Wow, all these people wanting to operate on me...between you and my husband...and my actual doctor, I'll be all set! 8)
unfortunately I am not "trained" to do a c section, only to play catcher on a normal deliver
I have a butter knife so I'd be very gentle.
Steph you know we're gonna be pacing the floors on Tuesday. Cam's gonna be busy, I know. Who did you leave in charge of notifing the forum and uploading pictures?? We'll be going NUTS until we hear from you. :excited:
YOU NEED TO GET YOUR BAGS PRE-PACKED FOR THE HOSPITAL!! I'd say you can't wait the last minute but we're already in that area!!

I'm leaving now to pack your bag for you.

Thanks! That's what I've been waiting for. Someone to pack my bag for me  I don't know why I don't pack it. When I was having contractions this morning I thought I probably should pack my bag...but I didn't
OHHHHHHHHH :excited: :excited: :excited: :excited: ..................

Try imagining what would happen if you don't pack and have to go in a rush. Then you will be stuck with what your husband packs for you! 8O

There, that should give you the incentive to pack.
It's ok, if she doesn't get a bag packed the hospital will be GLAD to provide her with a LOVELY Hospital nightie, an individual bar of dial soap and a toothbrush that falls apart after two uses (oh yea, there is usually a lovely bottle of generic hand lotion packed in the plastic basin as well)

maybe that will inspire her to pack
I can't believe you're not WANTING for her to get the hell out of you! Packing the bag ahead of time leaves you time to add and take stuff out over and over (like what you plan on dressing lo in as I changed my mind constantly).

Contractions were always a sign things were coming. Packing my HOSPITAL BAG was too ;)

LMAO. Sicko.
My mother worked the hospital's baby floor for years......from delivery to premie-ICU. She enjoyed taking the babies out to the mother's for feeding or show time........mainly to see the crazy outfits some women wore in the hospital. Remember, back then see through red lace cut well below the sternum was a bit risque....if not convenient for baby feeding.
I guess I'm just a procrastinator. Like if I'm going on a big trip, I pack the night before (or even the morning of).

I keep thinking I'll need the stuff I put in my bag before I go, so I don't see the point in putting it in a bag and then having to take it out again, and then put it back again!

I'm not all that uncomfortable overall, so I don't mind her being inside still. 'Cause once she's out, there's no turning back! Plus, I don't know if my doctor will be on call if I go into labor before my scheduled date, so I'd hate to go through all this and then not have him do the honors.

Plus, I have to get my car serviced tomorrow...

But I DO have several outfits picked out for the baby to wear (different colors, depending on what her skin tone is, lol). And her diaper bag is packed. It's just me who isn't...
Suzi just reminded me that her birthday is on Sunday so you could always shoot to have the kid then and name it after Suzi. At least you'd know the kid would be cool!!!
Okay, has barney posted this morning?! I got up at 2 a.m. and also checked my computer (was up feeding).

I'm going to stress until you have the baby (and pack your bag) ;) Bring lots of snacks! I was a starving hippo after I delivered!
Hehe....I waited until the LAST minute to pack my bags with my daugher who is now 4. NOT GOOD! :D I ended up with my water breaking while I was lying in bed that night....went into back labor almost immediately!!

So....here I was in PAIN and almost in tears....standing in the hallway pointing to things for my husband to pack.

Procrastination is my usual! :D However, with my son I decided to make an exception and get my own things ready before the unbearable pain set in!!!

That being said...CONGRATS!!! Looking forward to lots of pictures!!! :D
I'm here! I'm still at work! I had to have my car serviced this morning (I was only 7 months overdue on my state inspection 8O ), so I got on late.

Nothing new to report.

Bag still not packed.

But went to dinner last night and afterwards we walked the mall and bought the CUTEST outfit to take her home in. So I feel much better. I wanted the perfect outfit for that, lol.

And no contractions or anything last night, so that's good. I think I'm holding off until Tuesday (I'm sure I just jinxed myself).

NOW...all I have to decide is decide on a name...
I don't believe you haven't decided on a name.

Good to see you post!!! I wish I could see the outfit!! Guess I'll have to wait :(
Can you tell I'm a last minute person? ha ha. I've been meaning to get my car inspected since December...it's basically June. I've had 10 months to think of a baby name...still no name. I still haven't packed my bags, lol. I'm a mess! But, it's how I got through school, so it works for me.

The outfit is cute. It's a little dress-type thing with attached bloomers (is that the right term? they're like mini undies) and it's very Lily Pulitzer-esque, with a lime green background and pink flamingoes all over. I love it!
ooooo!!! nothing like a little girl in Lily!!!! the perfect summer outfit!!

would you pack already???!! youre driving me crazy with this procrastination.....i pack for hawaii 2 months in advance....sheesh....its a few days in the hospital at most......pack, darn you, pack!
The outfit sounds so cute!!! I can hardly wait to see baby in it...Just make sure the baby bag is packed and you have something to wear home...I stayed in the hospital gowns while I was there. (you'll understand after).

When my oldest child was born, I had packed my bags and was prepared. I didn't know what I would be able to wear to go home in...so gave hubby a couple of ideas on what to bring back when it was time to go home. I had some complications, so had to wear maternity clothes home...anyway, he brought back to the hospital what I wore to the hospital and it was all wrinkled....I could have @@@ him. Anyway, I got home and changed my clothes. Good luck!
Lilly....that's a cute name for a girl. :D

I'm a last minute packer, too, Steph, so I can totally understand where you're coming from. If I'm leaving on a trip tonight, I'll pack when I get home. I do my best work under pressure.
Steph,
I will be leaving to go out of town next Tuesday, so I just wanted to wish you luck as I will likely miss the big event. I can't wait to get home and hear all about it and see a picture of your brand new baby girl. So Good Luck!!!! and Congratulations!!!!! :cheer:
Beaureguard's Mom wrote:

 I was thinking the same thing.
Steph get packed, shave ya legs, cut the toe nails and if you were living here we ARE a day ahead.

Good luck with it all, the outfit sounds soooo girly and cute, we need photos of your new lil princess in her dress and bloomers when she makes her debut. :D

No Name yet? I can understand that, I had a few picked out and waited to see if the names suited them

Look forward to hearing what you name her and photos of her. Enjoy your stay in Hospital and have plenty of rest there as when you get home that aint happening, so milk it for what it is worth and to how long you are allowed to stay.

What is the maternity stay allowed there in the states now? Here is getting shorter and shorter now and I feel sorry for first time moms being sent home so early.
wishing you and the wee one the best of Luck :D
Lisa--I think the stay here for a non-complication regular birth is about a day, so if you had the baby on Monday morning you'd be home on Tuesday. I think the standard for a c-section is 3-4 days.

They threw me out in a little over 30 hrs after my c-section.
The standard for military hospitals if it's your 1st time is 2 days. For a second timer, it's more common to come home the day after, BUT they let you stay for 2 if you care to for observation (like maybe your kid has jaundice or you still have huge clots, etc). C-sections are different, but I do remember my friend had a C-section, and it was her second, and she came home after 2 days.
Barney1 Good luck tomorrow!!!! A new miracle about to enter our world! :D I hope you have an easy time and quick recovery.
I'm so excited for her and her husband right now!!!
Think she has her bags packed yet?

In the US, there is a federal law that health insurers must cover a minimum 48 hour stay for a normal delivery and a 96 hour stay for a c-section.

Best of luck, can't wait to see pictures of your little girl. :D
Thinking of you Steph and Cam and baby girl!
Hope everything went nice and quickly!
I also hope baby girl has a name by now.
lol, bag isn't packed yet...no name yet either!

I'm ready otherwise, though. Went to the hospital to get all set and answer their questions and give some blood...so tomorrow at this time I'll be a mom! Eek!

I'll let y'all know how it goes! :D
GOOD LUCK!
Good luck. :D :D :D

I will be checking back after work tomorrow to make sure you are all right...and that baby girl got a name!
C'mon steph hurry up 8) We are off soon for holidays and I need to know and see piccys of the lil princess before we embark on the trip with all the sheepies.

See if you lived here A DAY AHEAD :P

WOW Hospital stays are certainly revolving doors now. 8O

It is funny you don't have a name picked yet. When I was in the hospital having Adam, the girl I roomed with had a baby girl and she didn't have a name selected either. Well I had a boy and we talked about names. I had two boys names picked out and one girls. She and I chatted about the names and she asked me if I would mind if she used my "girl" name and I told her no...to go ahead...so that is how she named her daughter Allison Renee. She told me she would put the story of how she got her name in Allison's baby book...that was 31 yrs ago. lol
well, where is she??????? i want pics, NOW!! hurry steph and push would you??!!
Do you think Steph forgot to take her laptop in with her so we could be updated??
Good luck Steph!!!! Hope your daughter has a name soon!

She did plan on taking her laptop in with her...wonder if it got packed?

I wonder if hubby had to pack and didn't include the laptop. Doesn't he know we're waiting?
tapping fingers..... I wanna DETAILS!!

Steph, where are you??
She's probably kissing cheeks and counting toes. What a wonderful time. I guess we'll just have to wait.
Hey all!

Sorry for not posting earlier. Yes, I brought my laptop to the hospital, but they didn't have any internet connection in the room, so it basically just sat there.

So...

Taylor Suzanne entered the world on Tuesday, June 3 at 5:05 pm and weighed 5 pounds 14 ounces and was 18.5 inches long. She is SO cute and tiny and hilarious and we love her to death. She's done really well catching on with the feeding and all that and (knock on wood) so far is pretty good about sleeping and not a huge crier. I know things can change though.

I'm good--tired, sore from surgery and trying to learn this whole mom thing, but otherwise everything is going great. Surgery went well and I came home on Thursday afternoon, which was our decision--they wanted us to stay another night, and if I could do it over, I think I would have stayed another night.

I'll show some pictures when I get the chance to transfer them from the camera to the computer.

Oh, and Cam has video of the surgery, which I have NOT had a chance to watch yet...
GLAD SHE IS HEALTHY AND SO ARE YOU!!! (first off)
Was worried about you!!!

.........now what a bummer for us to wait any longer for that pic. Happy babies are always the prettiest!!!!!!!!!!!! That's so good you don't have a crier. Good gracious.. trust me.

Hope mommy feels better soon. How do you like being called that?

You'd have to pay me to watch my own delivery. No interest ...at. all...
Very happy to hear all is well and Taylor sure sounds like a beautiful little girl. Best of luck to all three of you
Welcome Taylor!! I can't wait to see pics!!!

Welcome Taylor! :)

Glad it all went well. C-sections can be rough, just try to take it easy, keep a pillow with you at all times to hold against your tummy if you cough, sneeze, and to make it easier to get up and sit down and hold the baby.
WOOHOO!!!! Congratulations!!! Welcome Taylor!
