PHEW!!!!
All I saw in the lists were scary things.
wonderful :D
Its great but if it were my cake I wouldn't want to cut it!!
Seeing as it took 4 days to make, has some major structural parts inside (plastic) the head is wax (?) and the cake was shaved to form, I'm not sure how much is actual cake when done and how fresh & edible it would be. But what a great job!!
That was pretty cool. (I found it) Is fondant the same as marzipan, I wonder?
Nope, marzipan is ground almond paste, fondant is icing sugar, shortening, water, etc., and is a rolled icing.

Yes, its ALL edible. Even the head is made from cake. During preperation the cake is refrigerated. Once the icing is on it keeps the cake fresh.

I did a wedding cake once and was going to have to postpone my Thanksgiving vacation because of the cake. After checking with other, more knowledgable bakers, I found that I could prepare it about a week in advance and it would be fine. I only needed 3 days.

The bride and her mother were ok with it, so I finished it and delivered it on the day I was leaving. When I returned, they said it was very moist and tasty. So, I have more confidence now that you can do (SOME) cakes early.

The plastic rods are to support the weight of the plate (tier) that is being added. If not used the added layers would sink down into the bottom layers. Those rods are in all tiered cakes, such as wedding cakes. They come in different sizes and lengths. Some are wooden.

I just HAD to see what that baby cost! You can sink your teeth into any one of her cakes for a MINIMUM of a $1000. I didn't check the date, so it may be more now!

I just told a few people I was no longer physically able to do wedding cakes. UHM........ :lmt: Maybe, I'll start sculpting. Nope, too much work!!! :( But, the money was nice.
That was incredible.
I fixed the URL

I love cake sculpting...it's not all that easy...I've tried it, and I failed miserably....the cake challenges on food network are really cool too....
