Latest Loki Bear Update
 He finished the Flagyl on Wednesday and I've been holding my breath for days, but his temp has stayed normal, lots more energy (his eyes even look brighter), no diarrhea or vomiting. He even managed to get upstairs to wake me up this morning -- Something he never had the strength to do before. I've switched him to food with absolutely NO corn, what or soy and kept his diet bland (mostly brown rice and chicken - I did discover he LOATHES salmon). The diet seems to be working, and I'm praying that when we get the next round of bloodwork done he'll show improvement.
I have to say thank you again for the help from all of you on this forum, especially Laurie (and Oscar  ) for the invaluable information on how to deal with all this. I also want to saya public thank-you to Madline Erickson, who rescued my Bear and brought him to me - She walked me through it and was there every step of the way. I'm cautiously optimistic, but if his symptoms return I know what I need to do and I'm done being terrified. I'll keep the updates coming. |

 I am so glad to hear that Loki is doing better! And we are happy to share what we've learned about IBD on our long and winding journey.....

| I am so glad he is better. We also have to stay on a lamb and rice with no corn, soy, wheat, eggs or dairy. I use Canidae lamb and rice now and Bella's skin and itching are so much better.
Amazing what we used to feed the dogs growing up...dog chow. How did they ever survive? |
