Need Advice Please!!

Sorry...I am rambling and posted this in the "Travelling" section also...just not sure where to post this for sure!!!!

We are leaving for Iowa in a few hours for my stepdaughter's high school graduation. Our new puppy, Brosnan, is supposed to go with us but at the last minute my Iowa plans for him fell through. I found out that the "large" dog run my stepdaughter's grandma has is actually full of "stuff" right now and there is no way he can stay at her house while we are in town visiting family. My husband's grandma lives in an apartment building for the disabled and elderly and he cannot go with us when we visit her. We are staying at my husband's aunt's farm while we are there and he would be staying there at night with us, of course. I don't know what to do though.

I could leave him behind in Missouri and let him run around the fenced yard with his brother and sister (yorkie and collie). I just feel BAD leaving him for 2 1/2 days when he is only 10 weeks old. My brother is next door and can check on the dogs for me but I just don't want him thinking I abandoned him.....

....OR....

I can take him with me but he will have to be kenneled (which he isn't too used to yet) while we are in town visting my husband's grandma and other aunt and uncle on Saturday and again on Sunday during my stepdaugher's commencement ceremony.

Geez....I had everything arranged for him to be with us this weekend...or so I thought. I just don't want to leave him but I don't know which is worse....leaving him behind to play with his brother and sister with the fear of him thinking we just "left" him....or taking him with us and having to kennel him frequently.

I do not want to have him boarded because he is way too young in my opinion and I don't want him around all of the other dogs yet that I am not familiar with.

Any advice would be GREAT!!! I just am at a loss. I really thought I had it all worked out.....this is what I get for listening to a teenager!!! lol

Thanks guys!!!!!!

He's too young to be expose to all new germs! So any kenneling is out of the question.

I'm not at all keen about staying with the yourkie and collie alone but if that's it...............

This is a bad time to be leaving a puppy as they are bonding but 2 1/2 days isn't bad, providing he isn't harmed by the other dogs. You don't won't think he's been abandoned as long as he's with his canine brothers.
Hmm...I think I am going to just take him with us and buy a pet playard or a tieout so he doesn't have to be in a crate while we are gone in town. My husband's aunt will be home to keep an eye on him while we are gone!!! He's just too much "puppy" to stay in the house with her!! I just have this gut feeling that he needs to come with us!! My husband makes fun of me that I am more protective of the puppy than our kids right now!! :P

Thanks for your advice!! Do you think this is a reasonable alternative??
I am in agreement with SheepieBoss, a kennel is out of the question at this age. I would also be very hesitant to leave him in a yard with a yorkie, there is too much difference in size.

I would take him with you and take a crate to leave him in when you are attending the festivities.

A puppy should not be exposed to other dogs (and actually should not be on strange grass or other locations) until they have had all their "puppy shots".
I think she meant crating when she said kennelling...

And I think you taking him with you is a good idea.
Just for clarification...when I was talking about putting him in a kennel in my previous post I was meaning a portable crate/kennel!!! NOT a boarding facility!!! I wouldn't put him in a boarding facility/kennel!! Sorry that I wasn't clear on that!!
He will be safest in a crate...just try to see if someone can take him out to potty every couple of hours while you are visiting.
