Colorado tornados

There were 2 tornados north of Denver around Noon.........one perhaps a bit too close to Ali.....let's hope she is safe. The other was up around Windsor.....SE of Ft Collins. I know we have a member from north of Ft. Collins, but I don't know about southeast. Val and Maggie and Boulder were not near the action.......phew.

I know Ali is ok...talked to her right after, but I don't know if she had any damage. She did say it blew through where she lives.
On the phone with Ali now. She has no internet right now...but she has power. She is ok and the dogs are ok. She wanted everyone to know.
Thank God!!

And Wendy thanks for the pm ....I just emailed her..didn't know her internet is out...so glad she has a cell. Tell her I am so glad her and the "kids" are OK. and I am thinking of them!!!!!!
Thank you Wendy! She is out far enough from the mountains to get tornados.
I don't think she is in an area that usually gets hit by tornados...that would usually be a little East of where she is. This is a freaky storm...East to West.
While the eastern side of Weld county/Adams county do get more tornados, east of I25 is still fair game. I'm sure DIA is a lot more fun than Stapleton airport ever was.

Yeah, watching the funnel on TV and plotting storm via doppler, I was saying, hey, it's going the wrong way!! Some "nice" size hail in SE Ft. Collins today too...half dollar size. Not as big as we had in....???1977 with softball and grapefruit hail, but that was a west/east storm.

This low system right now is just a bother for us, not nice for Denver/Cheyenne east to........well, Atlantic eventually. Come on, 50 mph and 50 degrees at the end of May?? I'm back in my sweats.

Glad everyone is ok!
Everything about our weather is getting or has been 'freaky' lately.

I think there's a great possibility that we're living in what the Bible refers to as "the end time."

Not trying to deter from topic of the 'tornado.' Just can't help but wondering about all of these disasters that are happening now. Its horrific!!!
okay, this is a blanket email to a number of my lists, please forgive me. Power is off and on.......not reliable.
We live in a very small agricultural farm community with lots of dairy farms. Most of the towns are no more than 14 miles apart in a diameter... Windsor is only 7 miles up the road from me.
Here is a brief synopsis of how the morning / day went.
I had an appointment in Loveland at 9 am this morning. It was a horrible chilly morning with gray haze and drizzle. After my appointment I made it home to the store and picked up some items. The wind was starting to pick up and sun in and out at that point but HUGE thunderheads building in the south of my home. But it was cold.......
Made it on home and made a couple of quiches to freeze and decided to go up and lay down for a bit... at this point it was around 1045.... and BLACK outside... and the wind was starting to pick up and all of the sudden it was HOT........... I heard it start to rain and then some hail hit. And then........... the freight train...................... getting closer and closer.... About this time one of my puppy owners up in Evergreen called and told me to put the TV on and there were the picture of the tornado, a mile wide was just outside of Windsor to the north....... but there were other funnel clouds to the south and east of me and I was right in their paths. I hung up........... gathered up the 'crew' here and we flew down to the basement ( I actually threw the cat down the stairs and pushed the dogs down) as fast as we could go and stayed there for a while.... once it seemed clear I came back up and put the TV on again.

The poor little town of Windsor is crushed. The first shots were of the daycare where 130 kids were........they managed to get them ALL out and over to the bank across the street and into the vault...... not one child was hurt! But the houses are flattened............... steeples on top of the churches are bent at 90 degree angles. The dairy and a feedlot are broken.... (for lack of better word at the moment) and cattle are all over the place running loose. The TV says that over 200 dogs and cats have already been collected and are at the humane society in Greeley with many more missing......... A turkey farm to the south east of me had roof and sides blown off.......... I'm not sure if they had the pullets in to start for Thanksgiving or not....(make note to buy turkey now for Thanksgiving at a low price as they may not be available in Nov.!) Blessfully only one life has been lost at this point.

My house and the house next door have lost some roof shingles but no idea how bad...... good thing my next door neighbor just started a roofing business! And my other neighbor on the cul de sak is a State Farm Disaster Team leader! Oh and the State Farm Insurance Headquarters building and the Swift headquarters building to the north east of me both sustained considerable damage as well.

The clouds continue to build up and wind blows a bit then it gets quiet again........ They say we are in for this again tomorrow..... Heaven help the poor people in Windsor........ they just now said it was probably a Category 4 Tornado........ I know it was huge folks..... bigger than any I ever saw growing up in tornado alley in Texas..... and for it to be in the early part of the day is what hit us all so unprepared........ It was so fast none of us had any sirens go off......

But I am here, the dogs and cat and I are safe.

Donna all I could see was BLACK towards your house in Loveland and was worried about you and your aunt!!
Myra, keep your head down! Kansas is in the red square on the warning box on the weather now.......
Greg Eckert, your timing was uncanny to call in the middle of the tornado! Thanks dear.......... call me again sometime when we can talk!
Wendy and Billie thanks for keeping me informed of what was going on.........

Thank you all for thinking about me.....
Ali

Glad all are safe at your house!!! When I saw Gilchrest/Johnstown/Windsor my heart skipped a beat thinking of you.
So glad you are safe! My husband works for an insurance company, and is being deployed tomorrow AM to deliver and support needed. From the sounds of it, it was very bad. Again, I am so glad you are safe!
If he needs a place to stay get a hold of me!
WOW!!! That's sooooooooo scarey! I can't believe you actually went to lay down with it being "black" out. I'm terrified of the wind. I would have been pacing from one window to the other!

THANK GOD, your're ok and no more fatalities than just the one! And, those kids in the daycare! That's a miracle! (Bet they enjoyed seeing the inside of the vault though)

I've always hated the thought of animals being outside in bad weather, especially storms like that!!

Thank you for taking the time to fill us in. Most importantly, thank God you're all safe! Please be as careful as possible tommorow!!!!

Pam (mouthypf)
Glad all of you guys are safe and sound.

How about that bank! Cool beans.
soooooo GLAD you and the "kids" are ok!!!! Call me when you have time......KISSES   all around from Heart :hearts: !!!!!
